Hey guys,

I'm using Gog for the first time and ran into a pretty significant issue.

I've downloaded the setup file (the game is Planescape Torment. EE) and now when i try to use it nothing happens.
When i click the setup the blue circle circles for a few seconds and than nothing. I've also waited a while to see if it starts, it definetly doesn't.

I tried to execute it as administrator and I deactivated the firewall and added it to the trusted program list. No results.

My potato is old enough that the curernt Galaxy version doesnt run on it. Can I use an older version? where would I get that? would that even help?

Submitted for your kind consideration

Edit: Solved it.
I right clicked the setup and opened the settings. In the settings I could allow the programm access to do its thing.
weird. But it works flawlessly now.

It would probably be best to check in the game's specific forum if there's already a solution given to someone having the same issue, and if not then ask the question there: https://www.gog.com/forum/planescape_torment_enhanced_edition

Check the taskbar if there is the setup dialog box or such waiting for your attention.

GOG game installers do that to me all the time at least in Windows 7, ie. when I launch the installer, that "Select Setup Language" selection box goes to the background, behind other open windows, so I have to pick it to the foreground from the taskbar.

However, even before that, at least on Windows 7, the game should come up with a "Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to the system?" dialog box, which I think is always expected when running something as an administrator. If that yes/no dialog box doesn't appear, then are you sure you have administration privileges with your account?

Also, as the setup file is quite big (1.4 gigabytes or so), it does take some time before any of that appears on your screen as something (virus scanner, some Microsoft security or gamelauncher bullshit) goes through the file first. That is why many GOG games have the first setup file as a small file so that it is inspected and launched faster.
