i am, unsurprisingly, a fan of how the company used to conduct itself a true champion of gamers pushing the way games are monetized to acceptable state. With their DLCs being more like Datadisks of years gone.
I have pre-ordered 2077 based upon the assumption that it is made by good company that is working to eliminate overworking people or crunch. Now in my specific case 2'077 seems to only suffer minor issues and graphical glitches, tho the reported state of it on consoles is sad one. This i think is why larger corporations have other teams to make ports to console hardware - someone who knows the architecture well enough and can adjust things in way that makes it work.
So my reaction to this is mostly coloured by fanboysm and seemingly rare more stable iteration of the game. I m fine with CBP at its present state, tho i wish it had way more time in development as some conversations have 0 choice - that being a personal large peeve of mine. If you do not want player to have choice than do cutscene FFS, do not imply i should have one through false choice dialogue options or no other options than one intended. Infact i would have been more comfortable if the game was delayed for even whole year - ensuring proper depth and polish (come on you are from Poland how come you do not polish your Polish game) and most importantly fixing major issues on all the platforms.
The whole issue with bowing down to economical pressure is something i thought was dealt with by statement of CDP as pro consumer platform, additionally the game reportedly removed the offending content... do not bow down to Uncle Whiny Poohead NOW ffs. I would even go as far as to offer some basic quality curation but subject or content of the game should be left to customers to decide upon as to weather they do or not want to try it. Play those games attach appropriate classification as to what is to be expected and let the market decide on its own weather it is worth buying.
Than again i am against all censorship in general (handful of exceptions made ofcourse) so it is my specific personal point of view, i have no clue how the business world works.
Lastly the seemingly widespread half-truth and outright lies from various interviews and implied functions of 2077 - do not ever go Molyneux (or his spiritual successor Sean Murray) route, there may not be enough resources or goodwill left to end up somewhere in proximity to what their games were meant to be. Try and follow more recent way of how Peter speaks of his games - either not at all or sticking to already completed and functional parts of them. It makes players feel less betrayed upon release.
In short as disapointed as i am with suits (hopefully just them) of the company i do wish that they will manage to fix things, just do not do so at cost of your workers please. Maybe have another major patch towards mid or late Jannuary - giving your team more time to unwind, recuperate and play the game themselves. i am really rooting for the idea of what i see GoG and CDP - honest upright platform and games that will have player's backs. I feel that is an achievable goal and that for quite some time CDP Blue and later GoG were on right path, just straighten the boat out and keep working towards these goals, it may be paddling against stream (or steam in this case) but it is worthwhile effort.
