I'm a point & click adventure fan. I bought hard copies of the original game, which was the none talkie version but I struggled to get into at all and I bought the first episodic game. I only completed the first episode of 'Save the world' I think it's called and wasn't amused or found the story particularly interesting. Maybe it got better?

Anyway my hard copies are now corrupted/lost and the games all seem to be on 90% off and I'm asking myself 'did I miss out on something here or these games not for me'? Does the American humour translate poorly to Brits like myself? I mean I didn't give them enough of go I suppose anyway.

Bought these for my daughter who has relatively recently become a big Sam&Max fan (she's been watching the series). She loves the games, but it may well be that the humour isn't translating well. Or, perhaps it's just not your cup of Earl Grey. :P

I like the Telltale games a lot, especially the secnd season (the first is the weakest I think), and I like the Sam & Max comics. I read them after playing the games, so I wasn't a fan when I started playing, didn't know the characters at all then. It's the games that got me interested. However, and I know this will be heresy to many, I don't much care for Sam & Max hit the road. It looks wonderful, it's the comics brought to life and all, but the puzzles are just impossible, even by the standards of the 90s adventure games. I consider myself to be a pretty decent adventure game player, but this I could barely make any headway with. The only game I know to be worse in that regard is Discworld (great graphics and voice acting too though).

Anyway, there's plenty of great adventure games on sale, so if you remember not having much fun with Sam & Max, I'm sure there's something else more up your alley to be picked up for pennies right now. Pretty much aything from Daedalic (except for Whispered World) is great fun.

I probably haven't played enough of it but yes it might not be Ma Cuppa (we don't all drink posh tea over here)

I played a bit of the second season and the free game with Abe Lincoln and enjoyed both. As the others have said, the comics and the cartoon are fun. Maybe you could try watching the cartoon to see if you like the characters before you get the games.
