Hello

After a long break I wanted to play Witcher 3 again and I noticed I had 2 versions of it in my library: normal and Game of the year edition. I think it shows up like this, because I have bought the DLCs separately afterwards.

Yesterday ((PLEASE NOTE I HAVE SLOW INTERNET CONNECTION!!!)) I started installing the "Game of the year"-edition which has the DLCs etc, but it might be that I've never installed those before, because I had played the main game before I bought the DLCs separately and I never started playing the DLCs.

While the GOTY-edition was downloading, I noticed it had "0 minutes played" while the normal version has all my played hours saved in cloud. I continued downloading the GOTY-edition thinking it's the "same game" so the saves would transfer to that as well, but when the download got ready, I found out they didn't.

So... do I have to install the normal version to use my old saves or can they be transferred to GOTY-edition somehow? Or can I somehow "locate the installed files" and skip new installation (of the normal version)?

I would obviously like to proceed into playing the DLCs too, but I still want to get to a higher level in the game before I do so, but can I play DLCs if I just install the regular version and continue?

It would depend on whether you deleted the save files or not when you deleted the game and installed GOTY-edition. If that's the case and you make use of cloud, just download the game you had your save file on again and move your old save file to the save file folder of the GOTY-edition.

I mean I don't know where the old installation of the game went... I changed SSD, but now that I checked the old one, I didnt find Witcher installation there... So the only save I have is in GOG cloud. Can I somehow copy cloud save to my SSD and then move it to GOTY-edition?
If you're using Galaxy 1.2, you can download your save files from cloud (try "Download extras").
