Breja: I didn't :D Actually now that I look at it, I think what I had might have actually been the same Imperial Flagship you did. It looks kinda similiar to the pirate one from the other picture, and mine has been disassembled for many, many years now, so I'm not entirely sure.
Yep, mine too. Last I checked it had a computer panel where the wheel should be. Also, for the record, that boat does not float! Though I had a duplo boat that did.
Breja: I actually started out trying to build my own Star Wars stuff before I got the LotR ones. I managed a pretty decent X-Wing and a (rather small) Star Destroyer.
Maybe my impression of the Star Wars stuff is colored by what I've seen at my friends house- they're really into Star Wars and have plenty of this stuff, including a huge Millenium Falcon which looks very "specialised", and in general they just kinda buy those expensive sets, put them together as per instructions and keep them behind glass :P It feels very un-lego like. Could as well be any kind of Star Wars models.
Weirdly I wasn't a Star Wars fan yet in my lego building days as a kid, but I'm sure I would've tried to build an X-wing as well if I had been. Or perhaps more realistically, a T-47 airspeeder.
I also plan to be pretty look-don't-touch with my lego room one day, but only for people other than me. When I'm alone I'm going to crank up John Williams and have me an epic Hoth battle :D
adaliabooks: I'm sure we had loads of the castle / robin hood stuff of various ages. They were great sets.
It was pretty great that one, though I think the M-Tron ones were my favourite. I remember having the big one with the magnet crane.
Hours of fun! :D
Aw man, I wanted that one so bad!
