Leroux: It's actually more likely that I play the game for 2 minutes and then forget about it. ;)

nightcraw1er.488: But they still have your data forever,
Yeah, tbh, it's more a matter of "enough is enough" for me. I already have several accounts with all kinds of stores and clients, so on the one hand, one more wouldn't really make that much of a difference anymore. On the other hand, the more accounts I create the higher the chance of abuse, and even though I realize I'm not totally consequent in what I do, I don't want to support each and every publisher creating their own closed system (and then still selling e.g. on Steam but with the requirement of a client on top of a client). I'd rather have less DRM and more competition than more clients and more exclusivity in closed systems. And Rockstar has even fewer games to offer than Ubisoft, I should think.

In any case, that was the reason why I did not buy Rockstar games even on sale: it's not that I was terribly interested in them, but I would have given them a chance otherwise. But I didn't want to give them money for a service I don't appreciate. If GTAV is offered for free, I'd have to rethink it, is all I said.

timppu: That is not the way it goes with me. I didn't play e.g. San Andreas until a few years ago, I liked it, and I was always interested in playing it, _at some point_.

The "problem" is the wealth of options. I can't play all my thousands of games in the backlog at the same time, so I have to prioritize.
Yes, and the fact you prioritized other things for 12 years means you're not that excited about playing it. That's the point.

Randalator: Heh, they misspelled "Red Dead Redemption 2". That's so Epic...

Stooner: And I misspelled "The Witcher"... That's so me. :)

I was hoping for the original RDR. Remastered.
Oh, I'd love for that to happen, for it to be RDR1 Remastered on PC.

I already own GTA5 PC.

Still, GTA5 PC is a great game and anyone missing it should definitely grab it with no hesitation, as long as it's the Freebie.
RDR 1 Remastered would be an overkill! I would get it even on Bethesda soft that's how I want to play it on PC (PS3 is no good, and I don't like XBOX360 pads).

It doesn’t need a “remaster”, or “downgrade” as it’s mostly known. RDR1 is perfect as it is, just needs porting over to PC and proper mouse+keyboard setup.

Can't even log into the store or the Epic Client.......which shows another reason why DRM free is the way to go.

Update: Judging how everything is crippled I would say that this has been a successful giveaway.

Cadaver747: RDR 1 Remastered would be an overkill!
Strong rumor at the time was that the game was a mess technologically, shared across multiple studios with staff long gone who could port it effectively. I doubt PC ever sees that game unless they remaster it for everything in general.
Wow, Epic is going all out on these giveaways. GTA5 has never been less than $15, so i never bought it. This is an amazing giveaway for me. Of course, the GTA5 page has crashed from overload. I'm looking forward to playing it.

The emulation of the game in ps3 emulator was almost good, a little adjustement and it was perfect. Rockstar just don't want to make a pc version for a reason only them know

If the rumors were true: what we know about RDR1, it won't come to PC unless it's a Remaster.

A dev said that they would have to re-work the engine from scratch, at the least for a PC version - since the version of Engine they worked on for consoles for RDR1, ended up being a fork from RAGE Engine that they were using at the time for all versions across PC and consoles - combining elements from previous RAGE engine, next RAGE Engine, and some new stuff they introduced...which basically made it harder for them to supposedly port to the PC properly.

If I find the post about that rumor, I'll link it.

Yes, this was the rumor that was flying around!
RDR1's code was supposedly in shambles.

There's a difference between emulating something and porting it natively.

The only other way I see us getting RDR1 to the PC as is, is if Microsoft officially adds Xbox 360 emulation support and/or Xbox 1 emulation support to Windows 10.

Considering Take-Two is going to release Mafia Trilogy they might want to do the same with both RDR games, and if they also add the prequel Red Dead Revolver - OMG!

Maybe but the game could be playable on PC no matter what they said about shitty code of the game

I remember Jeff Gerstman asking the head of Xbox about something like that at E3 last year, but he didn't say much. It would be cool to see, though honestly I'm a weirdo who'd probably still ignore it due to lack of mouse control. Either way... I agree it is extremely unlikely unless they remaster it for everything. I guess that isn't too crazy an idea though, so we'll see.
