Well it's done! Congratulations to all those involved. That looked too tricky to be possible to me. But they did it.
The probe just sent a message that it's now attached to the comet. :o No idea how long before we get pictures... it could be a while.
That's really cool! How will they retrieve the data? I'll look into it

Better yet, what will happen to the drillers? Are they coming back?

If it confirms that alien life is out there, by all means get it eaten by it, get it all on cam too!
I'm glad rosetta landed!! With time delay in feedback, adjustments and such a tiny target, this seems an incredible achievement to me.
OK, so now we just have to do this a second time with Bruce Willis on board.
Awesome stuff. I hope they learn a lot from it.
They made an interesting point on TV a few hours ago about how difficult this was. One of the members of the project pointed out that a good portion of the stuff sent to land on Mars ends up crashing or missing which is mind boggling when you consider how much bigger and closer and slower Mars is than this comet, yet they pulled it off. XD I will never cease to be amazed.
love stuff like this, gives me hope for the future
For anyone who thinks something like this would be simple, Fire up Kerbal Space Program and try to capture an Asteroid. Good luck.
