Looking for a roguelite to play over the weekend.
Any suggestions? (obviously available on GOG pls)

What are your current roguelite favorites?.
Hand of Fate and Slay the Spire are great.
Tower of Guns and Nuclear Throne are good.
Ziggurat and Immortal Redneck are decent (of the two, I like the latter a little more).

HyperRogue. It's more an experiment in geometry than a game proper, but that's why I like it so much.
Hello Niggles!

Sorry for the semantics, but are you looking explicitely for the so-called "roguelites" or as well for "roguelikes"?

For the latter, I like to take a look at roguebasin or the entries in the yearly 7-Day-Roguelike-Challenges.

For something more "roguelite", I can recommend Terry Cavanagh's "Tiny Heist". It mixes line-of-sight based stealth with some roguelike elements. Where the objective is to get through each floor, collecting keys and bypassing guards, security cameras and other obstacles. Each run can be quite short. And I have not been able, yet, to get past the nineth floor.

Oh, and it is free on itch.io!
Tiny Heist on itch.io

Kind regards,

Currently playing a ton of Nova Drift.
Gonna dip back into Scourge Bringer.
My favorite will always be Monolith though.
low rated
A good roguelite, isn't that like saying "a good form of cancer"?
The word "roguelite" is a magnet for haters, but if someone doesn't like at least one or two games from the following list, that person doesn't like videogames at all:

FTL: Advanced Edition <- all-time favourite
Enter the Gungeon
Monolith
Diablo
Rogue Legacy
Spelunky
Everspace
Galak-Z
Streets of Rogue
Noita <- current favourite
Dead Cells
Hand of Fate 1 & 2

EDIT: marked "favourites"

Risk of Rain is my number one recommendation.
also, as other goglodytes mentioned, FTL is a great one, too.

Aaa, now it's on! Prepare for war :D

On a serious note, I'm not fond of the concept, but I see how it might appeal to others. Diversity is always good.
I really dug Dead Cells and I'm currently playing Feudal Alloy. The one that sticks out the most to me and the experience I had with it is Hellpoint. Soulslike roguelite with a Event Horizon atmosphere.

I prefer rouge-likes because I tend to keep them installed forever. With rougelites I tend to uninstall them once I uncovered all content.
Right now it's Into the Breach, I don't think it is going to leave my hard disk for a while.

I had really enjoyed Dead cells and Binding of Isaac in the past, always fun to go back to them and do a few runs from time to time. :)
Some favorites (neither on GOG, but both are available DRM-free and one is freeware):
* Celeste Randomizer. Basically, a mod for Celeste that has you play through random rooms in random order, sometimes backwards. Great for short playing sessions. You can add the Extended Variants mod to randomly change the rules or spawn extra enemies or objects, if you want more chaos.
* Syobon Action (yes, that famous troll platformer) Mystery Dungeon mode. In this mode (accessed by pressing the digit '0' on the title screen), there are random blocks scattered all over the place, and you need to try to get to the end, with the level re-rolled when you die. What's interesting is that this particular game mode is rather rough; it often takes dozens of tries before you get a configuration that you can win. (Reaching a checkpoint isn't too hard, but being able to hit the flagpole and not die afterwords requires some luck with the level configuration.)

Also, I note that Bloodstained (available on GOG) has a built-in randomizer, though you probably want to beat the game normally first (as Miriam on Normal difficulty) before trying it.
