Damnit. Kurt Cobain, Layne Staley, Scott Weiland, Chris Cornell... now it seems only Eddie Veder is left. :/
R.I.P. and my condolences to Chris' family.

Guys, you really need to stop ripping celebrities. We're starting to run out!
Unlike those guys, though, Cornell's death actually surprised me. :(
I stopped following his solo stuff after Carry On (which was...not very good). Did his later stuff get better again?

Didn't know who he is but when a colleague told me that he was once the front man of Soundgarden there was of course only one thing I could instantly think of as a gamer: BAM! Amazing song.

PS1 over here, either way, it was a great introduction to that band.

Completely agree. I like that you can play the music from the PC versions CD with VLC player. I also wanted the sega cd version for a long time simply for the hell of it.

Songbook is a live compilation of just him and an acoustic guitar on stage. Various venues, many different songs - some cover tunes (Led Zep, Beatles, etc), some Soundgarden, etc. I quite like it. Higher Truth is an acoustic offering as well, and there are a number of good tunes there (probably the most well-recognized would be Nearly Forgot My Broken Heart). My wife loves this album. All in all, I feel it's a pretty solid effort. Don't know anything about Scream though, as I don't have that one.

Thanks for the opinions on the more recent albums. Maybe I'll finally look into them.

Been a rough 2-month stretch, being away from home for all but about 6 days. And those were working days. Was driving to a customer this morning, looking forward to wrapping up and making the long drive home. Heard the news on the way to the customer. On the drive back, every station I tuned to - including public radio - was talking about it. Made for a really long trip. Everyone sounded completely blind-sided by the news. Guess I wasn't alone in that.
My brother and his oldest daughter just saw Soundgarden last Saturday. Was talking for months about getting to see them.
Geez, I'm babbling. Most celebrity deaths are kinda like, eh, okay. This one leaves me... in a bit of a daze.
