I've read that you can find a Ring of Electrical Immunity in Secret of the Silver Blades. (Specifically, Gamebanshee's walkthrough for Pools of Darkness references it under Gothmenes's Palace: https://www.gamebanshee.com/poolsofdarkness/walkthrough/gothmenespalace.php) However, I can find no reference to such an item in any cluebook or walkthrough for Secret of the Silver Blades that I can find. Is it a random item? Does it exist at all? I would like to know for whenever I play Pools of Darkness next.

Also, I am starting to get pretty frustrated with the specific game or series forums on GOG. I have now regularly had the experience of posting a question on one forum or another and getting no replies at all. It may have gotten worse over the past year. I don't want to turn this into another "bash GOG" fest (though that will probably happen anyway), but this is frustrating.

The ring _DOES_ exist in the game on GOG, this much I can confirm from the thread:
Bug question - Ring of Electrical Immunity (Pools of Darkness)
Whether the ring is a random drop, or a specific quest reward, I don't know.

Apparently It is not in the list of fixed objects in SotSB. But a vast majority of the objects in the game are random, so it will be a matter of luck

Thanks for the help.

The thread about a bug with the ring in Pools of Darkness now has me concerned, since the ring may be vital to that final fight against Gothmenes. Does anyone know how to get around the bug?

The OP guy asked the same question but offered a possible workarond himself, equipping and unequiping the ring for each battle,

there is another possible workaround in the thread but not sure if it really always works.

One more thing: do you unequip and reequip during each combat or do you have to do it before each combat from the adventure screen?
