Hey Guys, Im a long time Gog lover and supporter. I decided to give blogging a shot after doing some writing and really enjoying it. I plan to do more with the site but wanted to get folks opinions and see what you thought. Its very much focused on Classic\Retro gaming . I plan to have new content every day if possible,Right now I only have a few Articles up regarding Nintendo, but plan to do some regarding Classic PC gaming next

Nice read that. I too remember the whole family, Mum and Dad included, all taking turns of super mario bros when we first got a NES. I also remember all of us thinking that the 'graphics were amazing'. Which I guess they were at the time and relatively given the previous gaming machine in our house was ZX Spectrum 128+2...

That's awesome , its something I cant wait to share with my Son when he gets a bit older. ZX Spectrum huh, those were really popular in the UK from what I understand. Always wanted one, we ended up with a Commodore that I enjoyed.

ZX Spectrum? never saw such a thing in real life, only in Computer magazines. Here, the C-64 and Schneider CPC 464 ( in the UK was sold a cheap clone called "Amstrad CPC 464) more common. And, of cause, the Amiga later then. :-)

Yeah we had the Amstrad and Commodore too although for some reason the 'Speccy' was the most popular in the UK even though it was the lesser system in terms of visuals. It had a really limited colour spectrum so most of the levels in the games were all one coloured background (usually white, blue or yellow) with black outlines. I remember browsing for games in the shops, when you picked up the tape cassette box and looked at the back for pictures of the graphics, some would have shown you screen shots from the difference systems - the Spectrum screenshot always looked terrible compared to the Commodore and Amstrad yet that's what most folks had. Guess it was a cost thing. Strangely though, most of the Amstrads came with these horrible green monitors that could only display shades of green - yuck!

Really nice read, that! Feels really 'close to home' and something I think many of us can relate to (although I must admit I'm one of the lucky few with a NES Classic...sorry). Keep it up! I'll be sure to check in to see if there's anything new form time to time.

We had a color monitor, yay! And the CPC also had the fastest floppy drive of all times, double yay!!!

Thanks Im glad you enjoyed it.Congrats on the NES Classic. They were very tough to find state side without camping outside a retailer. Hopefully the SNES will be easier to find!

Same here. Took me months to get hold of one. I live in the Netherlands and they were constantly sold out. When I finally managed to buy one, it was via the outlet store of the German Amazon site (I just happened to be looking for one online and snagged one in the 5 minutes they were for sale, so I really was extremely lucky).

I'll be preordering the SNES mini, that's for sure :)

I still have my SNES, 2 controllers and around 15 games including Mario World, Mario Kart and Streetfighter 2. The exchange shops are offering quite good money for them at the moment - I reckon I could get over £200 for it all but I don't know if I'm willing to part with it even though it only gets turned once a year....

Ya it would be hard for me to part with the SNES, its my favorite console and every now and then me and my wife will fire it up and play some Mario and Zelda.
