snowkatt: its possible that the email never arrived
or got devoured by spam

unlikely i know and damn convenient but still a remote possibility
avatar
adaliabooks: Definitely, but you would think if you were in ongoing contact with someone over something like this and suddenly they stopped replying you would check your spam emails etc..
It is possible the email never arrived, but Gog should have got some kind of failed delivery / bounce email in that case and re sent it.
yeah funny that people never check their spam huh ?

im sure that if OP ever returns he will claim he never ever recieved such a mail

It really isn't. He did his research by seeing that the game has multiplayer listed on the store page. Without there being some kind of disclaimer saying that multiplayer has to be unlocked it's certainly not his fault. Your analogy is awful.

He obviously didn't by not reading any reviews or seeing how the multiplayer works. And also didn't even bother to either accepting the credit refund or just keeping the games. And not only did he buy one but two copies without doing any research.

adaliabooks: Seems fairly logical to me... You bought two copies of the game, your father only bought one.
Looking at it purely from that perspective than you are the far more likely candidate to be trying to game the system than he is,
I don't follow your logic. Game the system how?

If he was trying to pirate the game by buying it, downloading it and then getting a refund, what would be the advantage of doing that twice? The installer is DRM-free, you only need to do it once to have as many 'copies' as you want.

Probably for multiplayer keys if it requires them.

True, but if I was the support rep and saw that he had bought two copies of a game and was now trying to return them (or one of them, not sure whether he actually attempted a refund for the gift copy for his son, or how that works for a redeemed gift) I'd be a little suspicious.

Maybe there's no advantage to doing it, but I would certainly find it unusual and be less likely to give a refund (considering it doesn't fulfil any criteria to actually be eligible for one in the first place) then if one copy had been bought.
*shrugs*
Maybe that's just me though.

Firek: I was able to find your dad's ticket. He did, indeed, receive a refund - we made an exception, and offered him a store credit exchange (not a cash refund), which he accepted.
We made the same offer to you two weeks ago, but as far as I can tell you never got back to us.
Please reply to our last reply to your ticket, and let us know how you would like to proceed.
Thanks for taking a look. I replied to the support ticket.

It uses Galaxy for the multiplayer. The key is your account, if the game is removed from your account then it wouldn't work online.
