I loved Wizardry 8. The party-based mechanics, the puzzles, the quests, etc. I love how you see the game-world through the eyes of the characters (camera is in a center-view window) and you don't actually "see" the characters in-world, you just see their portraits.
So, with that said, does anyone know of any modern or recently-developed RPGs that run on modern operating systems? I'm not talking about games like Pillars of Eternity or Baldur's Gate Enhanced. I'm talking about games that play similar to Wizardry 8 (like Frayed Knight: you see the world through the party's eyes).
So, any ideas? Also, is it just me, or do most modern RPGs pale in comparison to the old-school RPGs with regards to immersion and stories and such?
EDIT: I suppose I could just say a modern, first-person, party-based RPG :-P
Another EDIT: Oh, and I loved Might and Magic X: Legacy! That's one example of a good first-person, party-based RPG.
