Grenaaaaade!

Worms Armageddon, a spectacularly heart-worming blast from the past, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 50% launch discount.

Sergeant Slimytoes looks around suspiciously. Then quietly hops behind his longtime enemy, Dr. Pinkbottom, and allows himself a malicious snicker as he lays down a huge roll of dynamite. Seconds later, the good Doctor is flying halfway through an oversized watermelon and straight into Little Spinspine, sergeant's beloved protégé. They both let out muffled cries of pain, as they roll down the cliff and into the deadly sea below. How tragic... Now let's enjoy it again on replay!
That's the unpredictable chaos and emergent fun of relentless Worms warfare! Employing dozens of crazy weapons, fully destructible maps, heavily customizable gameplay conditions, and hilarious physics, the cute-sounding invertebrates stand ready to spread mischief and mayhem in one of their most explosive adventures ever.

Grab your best buddies, open this can of little fighters, and get ready to cause Worms Armageddon, DRM-free on GOG.com.
The 50% discount will last until October 13, 12:59 PM UTC.

Senteria: Does it have online multiplayer. I almost hit buy to insta-buy it... but I have to know
As per my Gog mix, should be the same as World Party. Though I would appreciate further discussion in the thread :)

0Grapher: Are you talking about WWP Remastered? Because that's available here and apparently still has frame rate issues, problems with the fake wide-screen mode and a very badly implemented online-multiplayer function with hardly any players.
I'm a fan of WWP and if the original were here, I would have already bought it because you can use the fan-made wide-screen patch and I don't care about online multiplayer anyway. Obviously, normal WWP is great but arguably not as good as Worms Armageddon.
And you're forgetting the missing stuff (some speech SoundBank and some flags).

Well, is this the case for this one too, or is everything from the original included ? Nothing's missing ?
And is this the "original" version, or "upgraded with something" (if yes, with what?) ?

But it's great to see it finally here :)

Chacranajxy: Woooowwwwwww this took forever. But I'm glad it's here -- this game is so good.
No shit, seemed like Team 17 was just trolling us for awhile.

Much thanks to all involved for getting it here, even if it took forever.... -_-
A bit overpriced but finally we have the only good game Team 17 released in the last 15 years of their 25 years of game excellence!
I am super happy I got the game. Thanks Team17. Sorry for sending you messages on twitter, facebook, mail or w/e. I am glad you released Worms Armageddon here. It works super smooth, everything is perfectly fine. Connecting online works great too. So basically we got everything we need.

IwubCheeze: How is WWP a broken mess? I was able to get gold medals in all the missions, elite ranking in deathmatch and most of the training missions without having a single problem.

Yup, I was referring to the remaster. I played through the game last month but I don't remember seeing any frame rate drops. I didn't notice anything strange with wide screen either, for me the game looked fine. I'm just assuming fake wide screen is 4:3 aspect ratio stretched to fit widescreen like they did with Grim Fandango Remastered. Never tried to the multiplayer part of the game but for me, single player was just fine. There might be problems I missed but the game definitely isn't a broken mess
Kind of expensive for a 1999 game, but I suppose with frequent sales, the base price doesn't actually matter that much. At any event, it's obviously nice to see a much-requested game land on GOG.
Great release. But ten years ago I paid 5 Euros for the retail.
My only one question is why did this take so long?

Cheers GOG for finally bringing Armageddon to us.

So yeah playing online works just fine. I'm glad I can play with Steam users too. :)
For anyone used to the original CD version, the GoG version has the same stripped content as the Steam version. I especially miss the "Rasta" soundbank - of course, if you have an old copy, restoring all the missing sound files is easy.

Thanks for the link ;)

It definitely took it's time getting here. I'll have to think about this now. I have a lot of nostalgia for playing half-baked free clones of the Worms games and I hear this is the definitive one to get. It's a shame about the missing voice banks though and I don't have a CD to restore them with (hence the clones). Another one I played free clones of was Scorched Earth.

Any thoughts?
