There's priests & rogues too!

Wizards & Warriors is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com.
The cult classic, Wizardry-like first-person RPG, returns. Wanna be an elephantoid Omphaaz, a feline Whiskah (night vision baby) or a boring human? Form a six-person team, then roam the land of Gael Cerran searching for an evil that's been going unchecked for too long and maybe lost treasure as well. Set those dungeons ablaze with magic and a mix of real-time and turn-based combat. Like old times.
This game took my attention. I've to look into more deeply.
Looks great.
Thanks, GOG, for still being GOG!
Fantastic release, GOG! Thank you so much!
An actual old game. Cool!

guar: The original release really emphasized the point that this game was designed by D. W. Bradley, who was involved in the design of Wizardry V, VI, and VII. That's probably where they're pulling that from.
Thanks for the explanation. Bought.

I had to use walkthrough for wizardry 7 (and never finished any other), but it was still nice enough experience to try this one too.
Many many years ago, i bought Wizardry 8 from Ebay.
The seller was nice enough and sent a extra game disc.
It was Wizards and Warriors.
Fitting :)
Thank you Thank you Thank you! Waiting for it for years!
Great release!
I own the disc version. I'll gladly rebuy it on GOG though! :-)
mouse have problems for anyone else? mine seams to not move unless i REALLY move the mouse fast... makes clicking some things accurately kind of difficult. any ideas?
I never played this game. I can barely remember the title, but perhaps I am mistaken about that.
I assume the exploration is in real time and combat is in turn based?

What about the "world", are we talking about open world exploration or a more linear approach?

How is the difficulty/design of the game? Does it punish experimentation with builds and requires only certain type of group to be able to proceed in the game, or it is more approachable?
Does Wizards & Warriors have voiced conversations among our characters, like Wizardry VIII does?
Count me in for this one! :)

I would have preferred the NES version, but nice job finally getting this one here. :D
YES!A great addition to the GOG library.
Oh yeah, loved this game! My box came with 2 metal Ral Partha figures. It will be nice to run without having to tweak things. The bug I remember was the town screens were actually a strangely codec'ed video file, and you had to convert them to play right after some DirectX version (I think).

I recall you could always switch to turn-based combat. A fun thing: enemy item drops are in their inventory prior to dying. So if a bandit attacks, your thief can steal the sword out of his hand...or the pelt off a mountain lion! That's some thievery!

I don't think it does, but the NPC voices are, uh, quite memorable.
