Step into the boots of the dead man William Mason (voiced by Ron Perlman) and descend into the dark world of Purgatory in this fast-paced cover shooter. West of the Dead is now available DRM-free on GOG.COM. Dodge behind available cover as you try to outgun your enemies in the unknown procedurally generated hunting grounds.
Cool! Buying it in a week (my gaming budget is depleted right now)
The Wild West...
The Wild West never changes...

Going to pick it up after work.
Wait, this isn't a West of Loathing sequel? Damn.

Except PotC-edition has no regional price for some reasons. (Game/DLC/OST has regional price.)
Somehow, the discount on PotC just vanished.
That was a really short-lived one...
Main character voiced by Ron Perlman? Damn. That alone might be reason enough to get this.

So, basically "hellboy" in a wild west setting.
Aaand.... instabuy.

Yeah what the heck. I know it was basicaly just $2 off but still.

What it on sale by accident? The news page didn't mention discount.

Yes. It seems it was an error, as it was silently and quickly fixed.

Even the art style looks like the Hellboy comics.
I'm glad to see that more games are successfully using what I can confidently call the Mignola-aesthetics. Some tried before, including an appalling Hellboy game from the long gone past, but just a few have managed it well. I always wondered why no one had tried it before the recent mini-boom, for its harsh chiaroscuro is not only pleasing and easy on the eyes, but evocative and lugubrious thus perfect for videogames with narratives centered on the supernatural.
Now, add to all of that ambiance what appears to be something closer to the weird west of the Deadlands RPG than the one from the Hard West game, and you have very little room for failure.

This is probably the closest I have seen that art style replicated. I approve. I'm all in for Hellcowboy.
