404, peace not found.

UPDATE: If you've been holding back on the Deluxe edition, you can now choose the bits you want: the Lord of Skulls unit and the Soundtrack + wallpapers pack are now available for purchase separately.

Warhammer 40K: Gladius - Relics of War is now available DRM-free on GOG.com.

When the imperials unearthed a bunch of ancient relics on Gladius Prime, they unwittingly set off a bloody chain of events. An ancient horror now stirs beneath the colonies and the planet soon turns into a chaotic, turn-based arena of brutal conflict between the Astra Militarum, the Orks, the Necrons, and the Space Marines. Face friends or AI opponents in the first 4X turn-based strategy set in the Warhammer 40K universe, and make Gladius your field of glory.

Go for the Deluxe Edition which includes the soundtrack, an exclusive unit, and several epic wallpapers.

DF1871: I can only repeat myself, i don't like galaxy and for the bigger games the downloader was really handy
avatar
Lifthrasil: Yes, it was and it is really a shame that GOG discontinued the support for the Downloader.
Usually there is little sense in actively supporting two programs with similar features. Galaxy is an updated version of the Downloader with extras (installing and social content on top of the backup downloading). Given the similarities GOG could as well upgrade GOG Downloader with new interface and features and name it version 4.0 or something.

deonast: Firefox on even a pretty average connection seems to download large files well enough.
Yes, I can testify to that. When one of my harddisks failed recently, I downloaded 5 files, averaging at around 300 GB each, from my cloud backup provider. All in Firefox, and over several days due to a not-so-great connection, but it worked flawlessly. So I think a few GBs for any GOG.com game should work fine, too.

You can even resume a failed download, if the server supports it. I'm not sure if GOG servers do, but if they don't, they probably should.
Rites of War for free - that's a good old game.
So far having fun with this - loving how completely different each faction is. I hope the new DLC factions are just as varied, I wonder what they are? Are the Tau and Eldar symbols on the random faction wheel a possible indication I wonder ;)

BTW, nice trap with the preorder. The Lord of Skulls is crazy insane powerful and can kill you entire army with little effort. I thought the pre-order would be a bonus, not a penalty :p
It is a bonus...if you win...your surviving troops get a big XP-boost ;)
Played 3 hours last night. Enjoying myself so far, even if the sheer amount of Kroot Hounds chomping on my tactical marines leaves me in a constant state of dread.

Excited to see future factions, hoping to see Papa Nurgle or Genestealer Cult!
Aside from simultanous turns (really wish that there could be some "classic" turns as an option) - quite enjoyable title.

By some reason I've got impression that it's much more "approachable" than Pandora. Probably because time needed for researching and creating some better army, capable to deal with stronger neutral units is much shorter than in case of Pandora.

It's fun to play, although idea with replacing food and ore for requisition resource only for SM is a bit odd choice. Not to mention about lack of diplomacy - while lack of it for Orks and Necrons is totally understandable, the same thing for Imperial Guard and Space Marines is a bit out of place (which is the case even if we've got two (or more) SM and/or two (or more) IG players on one map.

But I'm glad that game is totally understandable for me, and that this incredibly long amount of time to make any decent army is no longer there (comparing to Pandora).

BTW - referring to my past post about possibility to "vote" for hot-seat mode - I've created topic on GOG's forum (as well as on Slitherine's and Steam's forum), so if anyone wish to have hot seat - please let know about it in one of those topics:

If you want hotseat mode right now - you can run two or more instances of the game and use direct connect to play with two or more players on the same computer. It works very well on the GoG version since there's no DRM preventing more than one instance of the game from running (Steam requires a crack or bypass first). Obviously it's not ideal and a dedicated hotseat mode would be better - but it's there if you really want it.
Really, really not liking that there is ingame content only available for the Deluxe edition. So whoever wants to have it all has to pay for the extras as well.

Ingame content tied to the Deluxe edition + large backlog = wait for the complete edition, sometime in the future (and a sale).

You can buy the unit separately if you don't want the soundtrack and wallpapers, though 2.39€ for single unit seems quite hefty price to pay: https://www.gog.com/game/warhammer_40000_gladius_relics_of_war_lord_of_skulls

Even more so when deluxe edition contains them all and only costs 1€ more than base game (36.99€ for base game and 37.99 for the deluxe edition) while separately you'd pay 5.69€ for soundtrack and wallpapers and 2.39€ for the The Lord of Skulls unit DLC.

Indeed, it shows with one euro of difference. What a weird pricing. It does not make much sense.

Good news, hot-seat will be implemented in next patch! It's already available in "beta-update" on Steam, but AFAIK this kind of update is not present on GOG, so we'll have to wait until "official" release of patch.

Can't wait for it :)
Warhammer 40,000: Gladius - Drukhari

"A new faction joins the war for Gladius Prime: the Drukhari, with nineteen new units and unique gameplay mechanics.

The Drukhari are an ancient race that fell into degeneracy and depravity, with their remnants only surviving in immense Webway cities. Though they have suppressed the psychic power of their Aeldari kin, they have replaced it with preternatural agility and rapacious cruelty. Their lighting raids from the Webway carry off wealth and captives to dark Commorragh where they suffer intensely throughout their short lives…"
Warhammer 40,000: Gladius - Demolition Pack Out Now

"11 new units are ready to enter the battle for Gladius Prime with the Demolition Pack!
These new units are ready to demolish all the enemies’ defenses and they will give you more new strategic options."
