Warhammer 40,000: Fire Warrior is now available DRM-free.

Released in 2003, Warhammer 40,000: Fire Warrior is a rare example of a first-person shooter set in the dark universe of the 41st millennium. With 21 levels and 15 devastating weapons, the game follows one day in the tumultuous life of a young Tau warrior who must battle alone against a force that shows no mercy: The Imperium. The Tau will soon learn there is a darker foe at hand and become entangled in a frightening story that leads them through an ongoing war.

Well, many say it is bad, but as I can remember, it wasn't quite ok.

I reminds me of a mix between the games like World War Zero (or the original version Iron Storm), maybe a slight bit of these early World War 2 shooters (especially in the way, that you cannot carry more than 2 weapons at a time) and a bit of Halo (like recharging shields) with a WH40K theme.
Oh, and the PC version has some bugs ... that the PS2 version didn't have, like the audio (sound) problems.

I wonder why we haven't got Dark Omen yet.
Bought it. There seems to be an issue with the game and Galaxy 2.0. It comes up as "Unknown game". I'm currently unable to install it.

This is great to see. Hoping to see similar games (ie passion projects that ended up a bit rough around the edges, but still made with love for fans of the material) come to GOG, such as Starship Troopers. Hopefully such games won't disappear completely from the face of the Earth.

EA published that, so there might be some rights issues. Same with Space Hulk 1 & 2.

It's odd this just dropped as I am currently playing this on PS2.

Great little game for the price I paid(around 7-9 bucks at the time), and interesting plot/etc.

idbeholdME: "For the Greater Good."

Read about this a while back and it piqued my interest. Definitely going to the wishlist immediately.
Now I can't stop thinking of pic related.

Linko64: PC version is awful, near broken in parts...
As far as I've heard all the bugs present in the PC version, are also in the PS2 version. So just a broken game.
Don't get me started :(
I loved this game on the PS2, very glad to see it on GOG, it was an instant buy for me.

I do have a problem though, it seems that when you run at resolutions above 1080p (I run at 4k, but it also happens at 1440p), the HUD either vanishes or turns into a big, glitchy blue bar on the left side of the screen. Also, at the main menu, the Tau logo and background effects either vanish, or are tiny and jammed at the left side of the screen.

Looks like a pretty basic high resolution bug. If its fixed on 1080p, can it get fixed on higher resolutions too?

Thanks again GOG, I was just wishing this worked on modern OS and was wishing I could play it again. You made my weekend a whole lot better, even with the resolution issues.

Well if anyone wants a PS2 copy, hit me up. There's about 50,000 of them for £1.50 on PS2 at CEX
Been fighting with the mouse controls, really hard to aim at any level of sensitivity. is there a patch fix to make mouse controls a lot smoother?
Is there a controller patch for this game? I really want to use a controller with the game.

I also have this problem.

I just downloaded the installer from the site instead but yeah pretty bizarre problem.
I remember reading about this years ago. I don't think I'll get it, but what would I know I'm just a Gue'la.
