UPDATE: What the people want, the people shall get. The President has decreed that, as of today, all 12 available Tropico 5 DLC shall be bundled and included in the <span class="bold">Tropico 5 Complete Collection</span>, also available to the loyal but apprehensive subjects as a <span class="bold">Tropico 5 Complete Collection Upgrade</span>. More buildings, more scenarios, more maps, more craziness.
But El Presidente's generosity knows no bounds, hence he also decided to permanently decrease the prices of his latest adventures, accurately depicted in Tropico 5, Tropico 4, and Tropico 4 Complete DLC Pack. Go ahead and cheer in celebration. It's mandatory.

If you own Tropico 5 already, you'll find a unique 66% discount code for the Tropico 5 Complete Collection Upgrade on your game shelf. Head to My Account and locate Tropico 5 to find your code.

The newest, the biggest.

<span class="bold">Tropico 5</span>, the latest and greatest in the whimsical city-management series, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com with GOG Galaxy support for achievements and multiplayer.

You rule, El Presidente! For years, for decades, for generations. Forever, and ever, and ever.
If you're not familiar with Tropico 5 or the series, it's a game that mixes familiar city-management gameplay with a fair bit of political play. As El Presidente, from the late colonial era through modern day, you will ensure that your little republic has a stable economy, a healthy flora and fauna, a content populace, and no uprisings whatsoever. Nope. None at all.
Or at least that's what the papers say, but Tropico 5 offers you the enigmatic look behind the closed curtains of a wacky banana republic led by an incredible egomaniac. You.

Universally considered to be the most successful, cumulative refinement of the mechanics from Tropico 3 & 4, Tropico 5 is the latest and greatest of the series. With more challenge than ever before, new ways to see your republic grow, and - for the first time ever - multiplayer support, it's a must-have for fans of the series, interested newcomers, and you, El Presidente.

Ring, ring, ring, ring, ring, ring, ring, banana republic - <span class="bold">Tropico 5</span> is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com.
The package deal price is amazing if you own all the other games, however i'm also wondering about the DLC and how it's going to be handled.

I played Tropico 3 and if the sequels are the same sort of content then there doesn't seem much point in buying both 4 and 5. Is there a case for going for the bundle?
Cool! It's great to see El Presidente again, love those games to bits.
I wish Tropico 5 supported DirectX 9.0c or DX10...

Ditto. My GTX280 can still tackle just about anything thrown at it, with the exception of a DX11 requirement... {sigh} A new PC is likely in my future early next year.
I've played T3 sometime ago but it hadn't suited my liking at all so I'm skipping it (and the entire series too). I'll have to admit though that it comes with a very nice discount.
Tropico 5. Yes.
No Kalypso DRM. Yes.
80% discout. Yes.
Linux version when one is available elsewhere. No.

I'll pass for now. This was almost an instabuy, then I remembered there is a Linux version out there. This is happening way too often that Linux versions are missing on GOG. Publishers and developers need to stop treating GOG Linux users like red headed step children. GOG needs to put more pressure on them for the Linux versions.

I don't mind if a Linux version doesn't exist. I would have purchased Tropico 5 if this were the case. However, if a Linux version exists, then it should be here too. I might as well through it out there too, don't forget the Mac users.
Where is the DLC? Without the DLC I won't get this.

It might not even be the publishers holding back the Linux & Mac versions - in the case of the Metro Redux games at least GOG was holding them back due to technical issues. I ended up buying those from Steam at 80% off and they run perfectly fine here, even if I don't run them through the Steam runtime (such a shame they still require Steam to run though)... I'm wondering if they're being held up due to something like issues with AMD hardware due to their crap drivers, but there's no way to know as GOG won't tell us. They won't even provide the Linux versions on an unsupported/"at own risk" basis so we can help test & try to find fixes/workarounds for any issues :/

Hopefully they're working on the DLC. They propably just wanted to get the game out on GOG quickly.

I wished games stopped using any version of DirectX.

I don't mind a delay for technical reasons, it would just be nice to know if there was a technical delay. I would buy this now if it were just a delay. Unfortunately I believe there are still games on GOG that are missing their Linux versions for unknown reasons, like Bastion.

Which is silly to rush given it's been out on Steam for ages now anyway ... not like it's a release day match up ... and the lack of any DLC is a turn off ...

No point rushing - would have been better to do the release properly.

There appears to be a growing list of games here that are incomplete ... Postal2 is missing it's recent additions, hand of Fate didn't get the DLC and so on ...
Lots of people wondering about he DLC, that's actually why I looked at the thread. I've told myself I'm avoiding Tropico 5 until a complete pack with DLC comes out. Just not sure If I should buy now and hope for a DLC pack later.
another game I need to pass since Linux and Mac users are second class citizens on GOG.com...

OpenGL would be fine too. But most older Windows games used DX only. It would be nice if GOG had both Windows and Linux versions of all of their games. :P
