Lucumo: Fair enough, I wouldn't classify anyone playing on their phone as a gamer. But most gamers using Windows 10? Hahaha. Even if you look at something like Steam, Windows 7 has the clear majority...and that doesn't account for all the people (especially Asians) not using Steam (hint: those heavily use Windows 7 as well).

Clearsong: According to Steam, Windows 10 64-bit is 53% of their users, Windows 7 64-bit is 36%. Next most common i is Windows 8.1 64-bit at 4%.

So yeah, I think 'most Windows gamers use 10' is a pretty fair statement. Most Asian gamers seem to use phones and consoles. not PCs.

Edit: And a lot of Japanese phone games only run in portrait, which drives me batty. Dragon Quest 8? Great! Portrait only? What the heck?
Steam is 100% right about : According to Steam, Windows 10 64-bit is 53% of their users .........

Steam probably won't mention the majority of gamers having problems with games are also the win 10 users ... :D with 8x as a runner up :D

Always funny to see the Steam gamers reply with sad emoticons when they write:

"my game doesnt work, it crashes, it gives a black screen .., it gives ..... and also .... and the beat goes on, the list is endless :D
The fun part is most Steam users upgraded to win 10 .... a very bad mistake. , they lost old win7 or win 8x( win 8 is pretty bad but win10 is King of the Hill .... tha Boss , numero uno

The poor win 10 users reply : but win 7 and 8 will be gone soon ... usually i reply with: i know thats why if i need to use win 10 i will save to buy a new pc and install that horrible OS together with his buddy ET ( phone home) on the new PC, cause win 10 requires a better PC and win 7/8 wont probably recognise the new hardware so this is a win-win situation... or somethin similar to that.

I certainly understand wanting Windows 7 support, but I think it's important to realize that the devs did well in many regards:

- DRM-free on Day 1
- Multiplatform: PS4, Xbox One, Switch, Windows, Mac, Linux
- Available on Steam, GOG, & Humble
- Local multiplayer for up to four players
- Online play between all platforms

That's a good deal of choice already being offered, and I'm wondering if the devs might be open to supporting Windows 7 if a significant number of potential players ask them about it.

SeduceMePlz: if a significant number of potential players ask them about it.
A lot of "potential players" complain about things they have no intention of buying. And then the developer paid money, or wasted working hours, on the stuff.

I guess it depends on the person.

I don't tend to buy games unless they are very heavily discounted, but I'll make an exception for quality games that offer native Linux support. Don't get me wrong, I can probably (I say probably given that I haven't tested most of the catalog) run most Windows games in a vm, but it doesn't beat direct support.
