Dance your demons away.

UPDATE: The holidays are just around the corner, so let's turn it dancing, shall we? The free Deck the Dubstep DLC is a single-song pack with a track by Andross and some festive secrets hidden inside. Come on, everyone, time to shake our belly like a bowl full of jelly!

The Metronomicon, a rhythm-based RPG where you and your party dungeon-crawl in sync, is available now for Windows and Mac, DRM-free on GOG.com.

Disco is not dead, it just dwells in the strangest of places. Like inside neon-bathed dungeons, full of musically-empowered monsters described in the mysterious Metronomicon. Eight unlikely heroes will venture there, ready to deliver tone-death, grab as much loot as they can carry, and then awkwardly dance away to the next level. Apart from synchronizing their moves to the amazing, fully-licenced soundtrack, they can draw from a vast selection of devastating spells, buffs, and items in order to heal their teammates or nuke the rhythm-mongering creatures that stand in their way. Fix yourself an eccentric hairdo and get your groove going, because when dancing is a matter of life and death, stage fright is not an option.

Become the rockstar of a dungeon full of arrhythmic monsters waiting to out-dance you, in The Metronomicon, DRM-free on GOG.com.

first impressions ?

"wow a steam game has arrived"

That was my first impression when i saw the screenshots and videos
The 'good thing' is there are shiploads of games like this on steam.

imho steam has more games that would fit better here but probably won't arrive.

Crush Your Enemies is better imho : 9.99 euros listprice
sad part its not optimised so the game will be extremely cpu/gpu intensive already informed the devs but no answer.
got the game at sale, and lateron got myself a very tiny game:

Oh...Sir! The Insult Simulator, which is cheaper if you owned the Crush Your Enemies games

Oh...Sir! The Insult Simulator
Very Positive (700 reviews)
1.99 euros

now if you want games here from steam that have very good reviews this is one of them.

The trailer song is pretty cool indeed...game also looks like fun :D
.. and here we go again with the rhythm-based DLC milking. Great first impression of the game, but five DLCs later I haven't the slightest urge to jump on the Metronomitrain anymore.
GOG, are you sure this is not a Stardock-published title?
Main game was not bad, but also not that good that I'd be willing to buy all these DLCs. Way too many.

Jeez, those stupid "rhythm games" seem to be really popular nowadays. :D

And of course the devs are milking gamers with DLC like there's no tomorrow... ain't that cute...

Fairfox: Deffo glad I didn't get on teh first floor with this 'un.
The dlc is almost the same price as the main game now. :P
It's nice that we got some DLC for free. I have to thank the devs for that at least.

re: blah paid DLC: Why do you think musicians, unlike programmers, don't deserve to get paid?
---

Awesome game. I'm terrible at rhythm games but this one is fun and rewarding to learn. Everything is color-coded and Phillips-backlit so there's no need to take one's eyes away from the tracks with the sole exception of the health bar -- which it's not really all that important: if you're doing well, healing also falls into a rhythm, and if you don't, you lose. Losing is no big deal, since it's one song per match, and songs aren't long.

There are three sharp user-set difficulty levels, difficulty increases with progress in the campaign and (importantly!) effectively decreases with time, as both wins and losses (wins more than losses) grant XP, which translates to character levels. Levelups < campaign < user setting, which means you're never stuck outclassing the available challenges.

The music is consistently awesome.

TL;DR a highly polished and thoroughly enjoyable game. I see myself playing it years into the future.
