seednx: That doesn't make the slightest bit of sense. The German word ‘Ersatz’ simply means ‘replacement’. Nothing more and nothing less.
Yes, that is indeed what it literally means.

But with a dash of historical cultural context, it becomes much more powerful. Surrogat just doesn't have the same punch.

Though, feel free to suggest a similar turn of phrase that has the same kind of punch as, "50% bruised rye grain, 20% sliced sugar beets, 20% "tree flour" (sawdust), and 10% minced leaves and straw."

Perhaps I should cut out the middleman and simply put it this way: GOG has a strange habit of offering the "sawdust bread" version of a lot of games.

You should not overestimate the Wikipedia article. None of this still plays a role in Germany today. "Ersatz" has excactly no punch at all. :)
Unfortunately, "The Executive - Movie Industry Tycoon" looks too similar to "Moviehouse - The Film Studio Tycoon". And that's total crap. Maybe I'll buy it one day if some reviews can convince me that it's a real game.

Okay, fair. I'll go forward picking items from that bread, so the idea isn't unclear.
