timppu: I probably never will. It is so damn frustrating to play, those twisty dungeons where you can't find your objectives, the silly gimmicks to buff up your skills (like continously running + jumping, or climbing the walls inside a damn inn, etc...).

Even TES Arena was more pleasant to play, even if it had its problems too.

Marioface5: Will all three games have their mod tools here?

Thiev: Both Fallouts (3 / NV) have GECK included, and Morrowind came with TES CS, so I won't have any problems with adding Construction Set to Oblivion, however rebuilding the whole game just for that right after release seems a bit unnecessary.
Dunno if anyone else chimed in, but I think this would be nice to get resolved sooner rather than later. The Oblivion CS is notoriously difficult to find in any official way.

melmovano: EDIT: So no, not DRM free as it seems. I'm thinking of cancelling my purchase if this proves to be true.
It appears to be more of a bug (it's seems to be hanging on a DNS request). Palestine has some workarounds for now.

Snow-Mad: As I said I would in the wishlist, I bought Oblivion the moment I saw it available; I'm downloading it right now! Thanks for listening and including all the extra content, GOG!

One concern, though: I noticed after purchasing the game (forgot to check before) that it doesn't list controller support, and I must use the 360 controller. I just can't adjust to FPS-type games with a mouse and keyboard, plus I played both Oblivion and Skyrim on the XBOX 360, so it wouldn't be the same without the controller anyway. Does anyone know if it actually does support this controller?
I suspect it doesn't based on the existence of this mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/44945/?

PandaLiang: Wonderful! Have been waiting for it for a while. One question:

does it work side by side with the Steam version of Oblivion without interfering with one another? Such as sharing the same directory for saves and setting in My Document?

If they stay entirely separated, then it would be possible to have Nehrim and vanilla Oblivion (with whatever other mods) at the same time.

huan: I don't think this is possible, Oblivion has some paths stored in registry, and the external tools that are usually used (OBMM) rely on those paths. Saved games and settings is another such issue as you correctly note, both games will probably use the same folder in Documents. You could try copying the folders and switch your "active" copy by junction or renaming them around. I'm not sure if active .ESP list is stored in game folder or documents and settings... So there would be a lot of headache to make it work the way you describe.

On the other hand... if I remember correctly, OBMM can save your list of active mods and restore that list into your active copy. I'm sure I did something like that with one total conversion (not Nehrim but it should work too). Switching between "mod sets" this way takes a while, but unless you plan to switch several times a day it should be ok.
From what I remember, there is an option in the oblivion.ini allowing you to disable the game to use Document folder. This way the two installations may be able to separate in some way. I don't know how the registry crossing up will affect the two installations though.

However, for the purpose of Nehrim and Oblivion co-existing. I think the above method (disabling Nehrim to use Document folder) may be enough separate them with just the GOG version. The Steam one cannot work this way only because Steam version must be launched within Steam. Of course this will also depend on if Nehrim's installer works with the new GOG version.

The idea comes from the following link, but I have not actually tested it yet.
https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/3731755-nehrim-as-a-complete-separate-install/page-2
Great day to be checking GOG specials

Picked this one up. Thanks GOG and Bethesda

And once again gog staff are damn helpful to folks on the forums. No people "steaming" at the ears trying to get support like on another online store ;)

To be honest, I had it on my HDD for so long I haven't even thought of that.
I should be able to add it on Monday.

What level scaling fix do you recommend? And what are your favorite Oblivion mods?

I've created a thread where you can find mod suggestions and can post your own:

If just one: Oscuros; but otherwise I strongly suggest to study FCOM Convergence (of which Oscuros is part of).

Thank you. Oscuros was already on my list but FCOM Convergence wasn't.
I've posted your suggestion in the mod thread. :)
I think those large overhauls are great but I'm wondering what's the ideal level scaling mod for a newcomer who wants to add more mods without many incompatibilities and who doesn't want an extreme departure from the vanilla game yet.

And the soundtrack.
And the cozy inns.
And the sneaky letter bearers you never saw. :p
And the labyrinthine dungeons. (maybe they were not that good)
Well, this feels like some sort of coincidence. I have been considering buying Oblivion on Steam so that I could play through it again, but with mods this time. The only thing that stopped me, aside from it not being on sale yet, was my hope that it would eventually be released drm free like the others were. Lo and behold, it actually happened! It's been nearly six years since I last played through it on my old Xbox 360, so I'm rather excited to return to Cyrodiil.

They're awesome if you're in the mood for some serious, hardcore, "Where the fuck am I???" dungeon crawling. But, yeah, anyone not liking (or just not in the mood for) large dungeons will probably hate that game.
