Time for an incredible point-and-click adventure – The Castle is here with a -50% launch discount, until June 15th, 1PM UTC!

The Castle is an indie puzzle adventure that will take you to a small, pixel graphics town, fallen under the grip of evil. However, you’ll see that a brave band of adventurers has risen to the challenge and decided to embark on a perilous quest to end the source of the said evil – a feared vampire. You’ll gather a diverse group of characters to venture into the foreboding castle and accomplish your noble mission. But brace yourself; the castle conceals numerous unexpected twists and turns that await your arrival.

Now on GOG!
Interesting. Not very subtle about its influences. :D
Maniac Castle? :)
A pity that of all the LucasArts games to emulate, they chose my least favorite (maybe except for Full Throttle). I just always found trading items between three characters, getting captured, having to avoid NPCs and never knowing which items are useless to the characters I'm playing with incredibly annoying. Not to mention there's really no justification for having me waste my time with that verb interface in this day and age.
Hmmm ... seems that they hit the vibes of the original source and also added German and achievements ... then the pretty low price ... I guess I am sold.

Maniac Mansion Mania?
Wishlisted for now as I already went shopping yesterday.
Wishlisted, the game sounds, a well made first attempt by only one person, good but if there are dead ends.... not so funny.

Next please Unusual Findings, a great retro - adventure - pixel art - 80´s - The Gonnies - Stranger Things mix.

It took them 4 years to release it here...
With such game GOG seems to be the obvious first choice.
I do hope there are no soft locks you can engage early asnd not find out about until late. While I LOVED Maniac Mansion back in the day, it's never fun to spend 5 or 6 hours on a game only to find out you didn't pick up the squirrel in the beginning and now the game is unfinishable.

This is bad, but it could be worse. For example, spending hours in a game, getting stuck, and NOT finding out that there's nothing else to do because the game has reached a dead end, not even realising that you have to start again because of something -who knows what- that you were supposed to do hours ago.

The reality is, this is what happened when I first played the game back in the late 80's. There wasn't Google and all these gaming walkthrough sites and video play throughs to show things, so I literally spent another 3 or 4 hours until a friend who had finished the game told me that I just need to use this item... which is didn't have. He told me it was in one of the first rooms, you just had to pick it up... Well, shit.
Why so cheap; bec. adventure? Oh my ...

The music on the NES version of Maniac Mansion was so good that I didn't care about hitting dead ends all the time.

Fave track: Bernard's Theme
According to the gamecard:

"Features:
......
A complete walkthrough for lost players."

Where is this supposed to be @GOG?
