An action-adventure of great depth.

The Aquatic Adventure of the Last Human, the side-scrolling acount of humanity's downfall, is available now DRM-free on GOG.com for Windows, Mac, and Linux, with a 15% launch discount.

It was always going to end in tears. A vast, unending ocean of tears. As you return from your desperate space mission that was humanity's last hope for survival, you find our world in submerged ruins. Terrible creatures have reclaimed the oceans, our species' last retreat, and are now the unwitting curators of this eerie underwater "museum", which chronicles man's inescapable journey to destruction.

Acting as a brave historian you must try to figure out what brought about the apocalypse, while navigating the nasty surprises lurking among the ruins. Information is scarce, but the beautiful pixel-art environments are rife with clues on humanity's brief passing from the surface (and subsurface) of the planet. Be observant and thorough in your exploration, but never let your guard down for here there be sea monsters.

Dive into humanity's past and breathe in The Aquatic Adventure of the Last Human, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 15% discount will last until January 26, 08:59 AM GMT.

Breja: "beautiful pixel-art"

Remember that discussion we had a while ago about the most overused phrases in indie games? Yeah. This one isn't going away it seems.
Particularly when the pixel art is pretty sloppy =/

*waits patiently for Owlboy...*

muntdefems: Well, during the Kickstarter it was described by some gaming website as "a pixelated, underwater Shadow of the Colossus". I'm afraid your hopes won't be fulfilled...
That's the thing, Titan Souls was nothing like Shadow of the Colossus or Dark Souls, or whatever else the title and description implied, ultimately leading to a rather disappointing experience.

Maybe this game has more to offer, in terms of content and diversity. But either way, I'll wait for a lower price. ( Unless this somehow ends up with nothing but top ratings. )

Having played 20 minutes of The Aquatic Adventures of the Last Human, I'd say the pixel art in it isn't sloppy at all. They're not going for the same art style as Owlboy (which does, indeed, look awesome, but by this time I start to highly doubt they'll ever release it), it's more like a mix of Risk of Rain with Super Time Force and Not A Hero -- all of which I think have gorgeous pixel-art, not just some sloppily put together crap for indie game review sites to drool over.

vicklemos: I mean, roguelike, down by the sea, saluting captain Nemo and stuff ;D
avatar
JudasIscariot: Not a true roguelike but I see what you mean :)
Well, the only real rogue like I know... is Rogue (and "knowing" is a big word here). Everyone should know that when "rogue-like" should be spelled "Rogue-lite". :P

inc09nito: Will we get Darkest Dungeon today?
I'm interested in that too (and the price and eventual sale :P).

Yes :)

wizisi2k: as a kickstarter backer, they told us ahead of time (told on 1/5) it would be midnite PST on all platforms-Steam, Humble, GOG. This is one of those cases that some dev's get with the app store where they can pick their release time. I dunno if this counts as Tuesday's normal release though.
I backed this on KS as well. I've written to the devs to see if we can get GOG keys as backers. I much prefer having my games here instead of some Dropbox-y link that could vanish at any time.

True that, there's a lot of game with pixel graphics and few with good pixel graphics. While TAAotLH has better graphics than let's say "Kingdom nothing last" it's still not "beautiful pixel-art". But it's eye-catching, I must admit that. Yet, Punch Club (just brought today, let's see is it really awesome as people claim) have GOOD PIXEL-ART. Detailed one. I'm bored with game when you don't see half of things because of "art". Bad one.
Another intriguing release. On the wishlist it goes.
The game looks pretty good to me. I wishlisted it.
Darkest Dungeon is a great game...
I think I will have to buy this game soon. I saw some videos on YouTube and it looks so interesting. I think a game like this needs support on its release to repay the effort of the developer. And I love MetroidVania games.
