You can apply that to any game though or entertainment medium though.

In fact, what are you doing here posting on these forums right now? You could be out somewhere else doing something else in reality! Better get out there - your community and nation needs you this very second!

Yep - very early on you decide if you want to go nationalism or democratic as well as planned economies or free market.

There are also micro options so you can adjust case by case.

On their own they're not totalitarian, but you absolutely can go down the path of using those outcomes for your own gain and control - there are a LOT of endings in the game though, retirement, assassination, military coup, war, re-election etc.

Your choices will matter.
