There is no time like bullet time.

SUPERHOT, an intense tactical FPS where you gracefully pirouette inside a hailstorm of flying bullets, is available now for Windows, Mac, and Linux, DRM-free on GOG.com and with a 10% launch discount.

Watching your dancer neighbour tending her garden in yoga pants? Hot. Trying to get your lasagna out of the oven right after it's done? Very hot. Slaying scores of enemies while dodging a torrent of bullets in slow-motion? SUPERHOT.

Your enemies outnumber you, they have better guns, and they are expecting you. But you have the advantage. Time is on your side - the world stands still when you stand still and moves along with your movements. Slice, punch, and blast your aggressive, glass-mannequin enemies using perfect timing, clever positioning, and their own weapons against them. The clean, minimalistic visuals will help you concentrate on this carefully choreographed ballet of brutality and make the most out of your ability to pause and resume the flow of time. Things will get SUPERHOT but keep a cool head and everything will be cool. Especially your cool killing moves.

Step out of the FPS paradigm in slow-motion and engage in surgically executed combat while feeling SUPERHOT, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 10% launch discount will last until March 3rd, 8:59 PM GMT.

jcosmocohen: One comment about the price, because I don't normally get into price versus value discussions, but it's unfortunate that Destructoid posted their review this morning and stated the MSRP was $14.99. That's what I expected to pay, and now I'm really hesitant because it's almost ten dollars above that (with discount considered).
Yup, I've also read about the 15$ price. But then during the day reviews showed up with 9/10 average rating. So SUPERHOT became super hot and maybe devs decided to milk that cow. We'll never know, I guess.

All in all, for 2,5 hours long gameplay (and only few more hours for modes other than campaign), the price is a bit of a let down. Onto the wishlist it goes, waiting for winter/spring sale (or later).
I just tried the prototype (on Debian!). It's pretty fun. It's certainly different.

I'll check this game out on youtube.

Konrad: Also, my impression so far is that the story serves as an introduction to the mechanics and the bulk of the gameplay is in the other game modes.
For me, that's about the worst recommendation you could make ;-)
Looks good. Wishlisted.

rtcvb32: 2 years ago i remember trying this game out on Kongregate, however it was far more an idea rather than a full fledged game (Curiously i can't find it, it would still be an interesting demo you could look at... hmmm).

Marioface5: The prototype is still available to play on the game's website for those interested: https://superhotgame.com/play-prototype/
I attempted to try this out a week or two ago, and it's the same for me now as it was then: a mostly empty page with a space where the Unity game window should be (I assume), but isn't.

That's odd. Are you using Google Chrome? The prototype requires the Unity web player, so it doesn't work on Chrome.

Nope, Firefox. I use NoScript, but I made sure I had superhotgame.com and unity3d.com allowed, and I disabled AdBlock Plus on that site just to be sure that wasn't somehow involved; still nada.

The game seems rather pointless to me. I don't get why so many people are excited over it.
It must be for the multiplayer, because it seems to have no content of its own.

The game is single-player only.
It's an interesting game that's for sure, wishlist for now I might get it at a later time

Likewise. :)
Played the prototype. Quite enjoyable but the prototype second level was way too hard. Worried I might get bored of this game too quickly.

Still, wishlisted for now as it is way too expensive at present.
This game look super stylish. It reminds me a bit of Heavy Bullets and that is a positive comparison in my books.
Also Mirror's Edge...
At this price though? Wishlisted for now.
