Get ready for an escape-room horror game with beautiful hand-drawn art – Succubus Prison from Kagura Games is now available on GOG with a -10% launch discount that lasts until July 22nd, 4 AM UTC.

You stand outside a house on the edge of town, dragged there by a couple of guys you can't say no to without getting your kneecaps busted, and told that you were helping them to rob it. It's only three sisters who live there, they said. It's an easy score, they said.

You sneak inside and start searching the rooms, as instructed. It's dark, and even though you don't see anything worth taking, things are going smoothly so far. Then the screaming starts.

Hide from what's hunting you and use anything in the house to further your escape. Every action you take will affect how your story evolves. Do your best to survive.

Breja: That's the one thing that fascinates me - why would anyone spend money on this? Isn't the Internet full of anime tiddies? Most likely both free and better drawn?
Is funny cause you could say the same about Computer games in general.

Hmmm it's not even tagged Loli on DLSite(But it's tagged femdom ;)) and it's also on Steam.
But people mention censorship on steam....maybe the 3rd Sister isn't in the Kagura version ?

Darvond: This isn't exactly a niche market, just that Kagura is a publisher of absolute, unmitigated tripe. Doujin-soft have been a thing in Japan before indie was even a term; dating back to their microcomputer platforms.

mistycoven: The size of the market isn't the problem though, the profitability is.

DL Site carries literally tens of thousands of these games. The best selling paid game (not manga or illustrations but a game) has sold less than 150,000 copies. The 1000th most sold game has sold less than 10,000 copies.

Put another way, if you manage to break 10,000 sales, you are in the 99th percentile of all porn games sold on DL-Site.
At the 50th percentile, you are selling fewer than 500 copies.
At the 10th percentile, fewer than 50 copies.

There may be some porn games who turn a decent profit, similar to how games like Undertale and Stardew Valley prove indie games can be profitable, but they are the exception, not the rule.
Speaking of which, the game is #1 atm on the 7 day sale.

Eh. Maybe it isn't on the Kagura version. I didn't bother looking into it any further so if anyone else wants to, that's on them. The game isn't anything I'd actually be interested in either way. It has a good idea for an escape type but too much seems off-putting about it.

Eh Video games are wildly available for free, there is always a better one and there is even sites dedicated to collecting and preserving them. So yeah.

Yes, there are some very good free games, but nevertheless I'm pretty sure there is ever so slight a difference in how easily you can find a (superior) quality free replacement for this porn, and for most paid games, especially the at least above average ones.

Not to mention that even a superior game in the same genre might not really serve as a "replacement" for another game for any number of reasons such as story or setting. Porn is, I think, quite a bit more... interchangeable.

Legally in full quality ? Probably not that much difference. Most Anime Tiddy sites do have copyright problems too, just like games do.

Also except for Vanilla Porn is not that interchangeable(and even then tastes matter there)

If someone wants exactly that setting and Story with that kind of art style that might not be so easy to substitute.
I mean with most Shooters ie the setting and story are irrelevant still people decide for one over the other.
Maybe people just want to pay for and support stuff they like "shrug".
