Get ready for a beautiful tale – Storm Boy is now available on GOG, with a -20% launch discount until November 27th, 4 AM UTC!

Based on Colin Thiele's 1964 children’s book of the same name, Storm Boy takes place on the beaches of South Australia near the mouth of the Murray River, where the titular protagonist rescues orphaned pelican chicks, one of whom later becomes the child’s pet and faithful companion, Mr. Percival.

Now on GOG!
I adore the concept, so to the wishlist it goes until I read/watch a few reviews.
That kid doesn't look too much australian... :/
I've never read the book (or even heard of it), it might very well be wonderful, but as a game this sounds like an absolute snoozefest.

Zoidberg: That kid doesn't look too much australian... :/
Fear not, noble Zoidberg, for the child is only ever referred to as "Storm Boy", and never as an Australian. Phew!
Oh hey, a game set in my home state, that's something I never expected to see.

Not sure how much gameplay this has, but as a local I think I need to check it out, if just for the novelty.

This is a short (~40 min?), multimedia story-telling experience, and I enjoyed the graphics, music and atmosphere for the most part. From the looks, it might seem like a nice thing to share with small children, but I would advise anyone who plans on doing that to research the story or play it yourself first, in order to judge whether the kids are ready for it. It's not all as nice and wholesome as it may appear.
