It’s a snow day, dude!

From South Park Digital Studios and THQ Nordic comes SOUTH PARK: SNOW DAY! – the all-new 3D co-op game in which you’ll join Cartman, Stan, Kyle, and Kenny to celebrate the most magical day in any young child’s life - a snow day!

The game is now out, together with its Season Pass, Underwear Gnome Cosmetics Pack, Digital Deluxe Edition, CRED Pack and To Danse with Ravenous Shadows DLC.

Let’s take a look at what this title has to offer!

You can play SOUTH PARK: SNOW DAY! with up to three of your friends, or by using matchmaking to find someone to play. And if playing solo is more your style, you can certainly do so with ally bots.

Here’s what you can expect:

A battle through the snow-piled town of South Park.

Frenetic, action-packed combat against warring factions in an all-new story where you make the rules.

A plethora of upgradable, devastating melee and ranged weapons, as well as special abilities and powers that will bring hordes of enemies and epic bosses to their knees.

A wide range of iconic cosmetics to customize your New Kid with endless possible combinations.

A day when school is canceled.

Now that sounds like a blast, doesn’t it?

Now on GOG!

RizzoCuoco: And...the issue of the pre-order bonus is resolved. Thanks, Thom @ THQ

ThomNG: Great to hear, GOG also emailed me that the issue should be solved now! Have fun!
Thanks for addressing the issue so quick.

Devyatovskiy: So many 4-player co-op/versus arena shooters! At least this one has a setting gimiick going on.

Too bad most kids these days won't know what a Snow Day actually is. Between the remote learning situations and the fact that snow is barely seen in such quantities anymore, this will only be a throwback to us geezers. Maybe in the future kids will have something like a Searing Day! Like the reverse of the Snow Day where you will burst into flame when going outside! That'd be epic.

Because this is nothing like the previous couple of South Park bangers, I don't know if I'll be picking this one up anytime soon. Hopefully it doesn't go the route of most abandoned co-op shooters out there... alive on the outside, but dead inside. Looking at World War Z and Aliens: Fireteam Elite. Those were good games at the height of their popularity, but boy do they plummet when abandoned. The thing is they weren't good enough for massive amount of players to stick around. What were those devs/publishers thinking!? Quick buck?
You are sadly probably right about the planet, the upside is it did remind me of that Twilight Zone episode where a woman attempts to survive as the planet hurtles closer to the sun, which was a good one.
I'm still not exactly sure what this game is. Some images imply it carries on the the city-wide fantasy LARP premise of Stick of Truth, which honestly sounds more fun to me than the South Park setting itself (I'm mostly indifferent to SP), but unlike an RPG with turn based combat, this "frenetic" and co-op focused gameplay doesn't really sound like my thing. I'm not a fan of paid cosmetics in single-player games, season-passes and that kind of stuff, so I'll be giving this one a pass.
I'm watching some gameplay right now and to me it looks like an fun action RPG :)

edit: Does anyone know if there is a key binding option in this game?

Wow, this is amazing! So good that the franchise is not longer with Ubisoft!
Looks interesting. Would be great to see all games of the franchise here, Sticker of Truth is such a good game (the second is not as good though. Still good, but SoT is really good!).

Yes you can rebind keys. Havn't tried it myself, but when you pause the game, there is menu for rebinding.

Thank you.

But IGN really ripped this game apart so I might wait for it to go on sale...

It lacks a bit of content in my opinion (there is already a roadmap of future content), but otherwise it is very fun.

Of course nothing groundbreaking, but still very nice.

IGN went nuts on this review, especially as Gollum got a 4/10 and Skull&Bones a 7/10. The review is definitely not objective.

I actually would recommend the game, if you like southpark and are looking looking for some mindless fun.

Ueber: The review is definitely not objective.
All reviews are inherently subjective.

Also Gollum is not as horrible as people make it out to be. Not great, but fine. 4 is absolutely a valid score. I'd personally give it 5.
A review is very subjective, of course. But whenever I have a game on my radar, I want to have an opinion from somebody who played it.
I bought a lot of games based on very good reviews and I don't remember going wrong with this. I'd also rather buy something on Amazon with 5 stars (and lots of ratings) than something that only has 2 or so^^.

Personally I'm not that hard to please when it comes to games :)
The download link for the 420 Pack installer falsely points at the one for To Danse with Ravenous Shadows.
