Better get ready, because Showgunners is now available on GOG! It’s arriving with Art Book and Soundtrack as well; but worry you not, you can get all these titles, with an additional Scarlett Costume content, in one Deluxe Edition! Moreover, you can get the base game with a -10% launch discount – hurry up, the offer ends on May 9th, 5 PM UTC!

Showgunners is a turn-based strategy game that takes place in a far, dystopian future. You’ll take up the role of Scarlett Martillo, a contestant in a high stakes reality show, with the main quest to survive a dangerous urban environment packed with traps, confounding puzzles, and heavily armed psychopaths. Each stage of the game has been hand-crafted to create a curated, turn-based tactical gameplay experience, heightened with the inclusion of a diabolical show director, who’s choices will depend on your performance. But don’t worry, you won’t be fighting alone – as the story progresses, players will recruit new partners that can turn the tide of battle in all kinds of exciting ways. Upgrade your characters, unlock hidden challenges within each chapter, and obtain legendary weapons and helpful items that will assure your victory!

Don’t wait, check it out now!
Thank you for the clarification. Indeed, as far as I'm concerned, I'm not against cosmetic DLCs on principle, but it would be better if they were at least substantial collections, not 50 separate individual skins.
Damn it, (probably a phenomenon a couple others know too well) but I keep save scumming way too often, just to 'save' a medkit. It took me a while to stop doing this in the XCOM games, guess I'll have to condition myself again. :P

I might just start fresh and do an Ironman playthrough. :)
To be honest I will be pissed too if they promised me a goth gf and then they don't provide it.

F4LL0UT: This is all I can say right now:
1. As a fellow GOGer I'm royally pissed myself right now and I am doing what I can to clean this mess up.
2. No, the game is not going to be subject to an endless stream of paid cosmetic DLC.

Sorry guys. I'll report back once I have news on this matter.
okay, i noticed before but was not completely sure. so you're a dev, or someone on the "team". okay, can you request forum upgrade so you get the color to show you're an official in/with the company. do that so your words carry more weight. that should be your first priority. after that make sure whatever gets released elsewhere also here. i, begrudgingly, do want those skins so will buy here as released. yeah, i know. but still, the "collector" in me is forcing me. also, i know it is possible and may cause jealousy or even rage here, but i know you can, so please pm me a code for the deluxe skin. or make a new bundle that takes out the amount spent already on what items we have and charges for the skin, but not soundtracks and doesn't include them. i'm not into soundtracks. but the skin i want, on principle.

well anyway, good to see you active, all other issues aside. tldr; release all content on gog as you do anywhere else, so you know, we can PAY for it - and have it. and yeah, i hope not too much paid for dlc is released overall because that is stinky practice. well, unless it's actual content like maps/levels/etc. not cosmetic.

also not sure if you're with GSE or a specific dev/group/whatever, but can you talk to people and try and bring the rest (everything not already here) to gog? ==> store.steampowered .com/publisher/GoodShepherdEnt

In my first post in this release thread I established both, in what capacity I have worked on this game (lead game designer) and why I do not want a developer tag on GOG. There are too many reasons not to apply a developer tag to this private account which I have been using for over a decade, also as an active forum member, and I don't feel like using a new faceless corporate account to talk to fellow GOGers.

Colleagues using official company accounts should appear on the game's subforum once there's a bit of commotion there. Given the limited activity in this release thread I don't see much sense in summoning them here, however.

Yeah, that part is obvious. All I can say is that there's been a bit of chaos regarding those skins, also on Steam, and no individual person is to blame.

I am not with GSE and I don't feel like additionally burdening myself with matters related to games that I'm not affiliated with in any way. I'm burned out enough as it is. :,)

ah, okay. sure. my "bad" was not reading all posts from the beginning - ergo not seeing it.

ahhhh... well i always want more games here, so i will never stop asking, anyone even remotely "involved". but, then do release any future games YOU have some say/sway over. even if at a later date. ie: eventually. after it sold "as much as it can" elsewhere. dump them on gog as a final "saving" grace.

...

okay, good fast response for/via below thread. still want deluxe skin a fair way, boss!!!:

Just wrapped it up.
Would have had it finished sooner, but after running into the "Horror Hospital" issue (which has been fixed since then) I decided to start over again.

Already praised the overall quality of the presentation (in particular the graphic novel-like aesthetics used in the portraits and the intermediary story cutscenes) and the wrestling-inspired(?) sponsorship system (which ultimately I think was not used to its full extent/potential however) but after finishing it Showgunners has also proven itself as the competent and solid NuXCOM-lite it set out to be.
Was a bit sceptical when the words "simplified" and "streamlined" came up in regards to the turn-based tactical side of things, but actually was surprised by how well the intricacies of the straightforward character abilities playing off and synergising with one another compensate for the lack of sophisticated and complex mechanics and still make for a decently (at times even hard-as-nails) challenging experience, on the hardest difficulty at least.
If you had a grand old time with Hard West (by most of the same people that went on and made Showgunners as Artificer) or more recently Hard West 2 (by Ice Code Games, but coincidentally also published by Good Shepherd Entertainment) chances are you're going to have the same grand old time with Showgunners as well.

Just posted this on their Discord, but I'll mention it here as well.

A New Game Plus mode would add to the replayability of the game immensely. :)
A skirmish mode would be great as well, I'd definitely pay for such a DLC.

Amazing game btw. had a ton of fun so far. Only have one mission left and I've finished the game. :)

Thank you very much, guys, especially to Swedrami who has been flooding our game's subforum with feedback.

And yeah, we've been observing all community feedback very closely and clearly people are very interested in anything that would justify a second playthrough so that's something we're absolutely looking into as patch material. :)
Another great looking game.
Reminds me of the XCOM game.
To have nice graphics and various elements that remind me of the xcom series of games.
Finished the game just now and I wouldn't mind another go at the game on a higher difficulty. :)
F4LL0UT, congrats on making such an amazing game!

Liked the ending, I hope the game sells well enough to make a sequel a worthwhile endeavour, should you guys and gals be interested in that. :)

Now that I think about it. This might actually be the first game this year that I finished completely, damn, it's already the end of May. :P

Went to Artificer's website the other day, and they have this as placeholder(?) art for "TBD: Artificer Two" on there. The picture itself is titled "PhantomDoctrine2", but as far as I'm aware the property and therefore the rights to develop a follow-up are still owned by Creative Forge (who actually have a sequel in name only in the works), thus it must be something else, such as a completely new intellectual property?
Also since it doesn't look very alternate/futuristic totalitarian/dystopian reality either (which may be the point, to discombobulate and throw everyone off).

Time will tell! For now we're busy doing post-release support for Showgunners and additionally we're working on that mysterious second project that Swedrami dug up on our website. :)

I can confirm that it's not Phantom Doctrine 2 but that's all I can say at this point. I presume that the file name was a joke by our UX designer who also set up the website. Not a day goes by without the guy trolling someone at work and we love him for it.
