Release the lynx!

Shelter 2, in which you'll live out the day-to-day of a mother lynx, is available now for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 10% discount - or 30% off if you already own the original Shelter.

In Shelter 2 you'll give birth to your little cubs, raise them, teach them to hunt, and to brave the cold wilderness. It's an absolutely unique concept in video games that's only been explored in the original Shelter, but never quite to this extent. The sequel includes a much more vast terrain to discover, new gameplay elements with more freedom than ever, a variety of prey to hunt, and a deeper level of interaction with your little ones. Shelter 2 is a sight to behold, a climactic painterly experience that you won't get anywhere else.

If you already own the original Shelter, you can take advantage of the fan-discount for a combined 30% off! You can also pick up the Special Edition, which includes the game's original soundtrack.

Enter the wild once more in Shelter 2, a unique gaming experience available now on GOG.com. The discount will last for one week until Monday, March 16 at 2:59 PM GMT.

Pre-order pricing error:
There was an error with pre-order discounts for the game. If you pre-ordered the game with the 20% fan-discount (as opposed to 30%), make sure to get in touch with our Support team. We'll get the difference straightened out as soon as possible!
All the links to "Shelter 2" is broken; the only link that works is "Special Edition".
Edit: Nevermind, it works now.

I've never played the first Shelter, but I do own it on another service.
Definitely looks interesting, will probably pick it up during a sale.
Does the first one have a Linux build BTW?
Nice release! But unfortunately right after the Insomnia sale there is no money left to pick it up immediately.

To the wishlist it goes.
Yay, I can download my preorder. Quite looking forward to this game, the first was beautiful and moving.

Hey, guys!

We made a mistake with pre-order discounts - if you had Shelter part one (the one with the badger family), you should have gotten 30% off on this one, not 20% (it was meant to be 20% on top as opposed to 20% instead of 10).

If you've pre-ordered the game, please contact our support team and we'll process a partial refund for you - returning the amount you overpaid.

We're very sorry about the error and will make sure to triple-check future discounts to avoid such cases in the future!

Going to contact the support team now.
Got a bit worried when I saw this, as the Pre-order cost me more than it would have now.
Another question though:
Do those who pre-ordered still get the exclusive skin and the soundtrack as was advertised?

Thanks for the heads-up

Oh, very nice of you! I was content with the 20% discount, but will contact about this anyway. More money for future GOG purchases. :)
I was so upset when I lost my baby badgers in the first game, I don't know if I have the heart to go through this again

Yep, I felt bad about letting them die...which made the game incredibly frustrating, given that it's excruciatingly difficult to keep them all alive.

FYI, Shelter 2 Special Edition is still marked as a Pre-order on the game card. The standard edition Shelter 2 is fine though.

Edit: Now fixed.

Support contacted.

I see the Special Edition comes with, essentially, the pre-order bonuses.
Does this mean that those who pre-ordered should receive this edition?
Because should this be the case, the refund would differ depending on the edition received.

Edit: The pre-order seems to come with Special Edition Upgrade.

Though it seems you will be a hunter in this game, so I will most likely get it :)

Special Edition includes the soundtrack and an exclusive skin (coming soon!) absolutely FREE!
Isn't that false advertsement? I mean those are the content you pay for when you buy the Special Edition. :-p Btw, the SE upgrade does not mention the exlusive skin (but claims soundtrack being free extra when it's what you pay for when you get SE upgrade). It does not receive the 10% / 30% launch discount either...

Edit: SHELTER 2 SPECIAL EDITION has "English & more" under title where base game and upgrade only have "English".

Interesting, and with a day-one Linux version as well. I'll have to wishlist it for now but I'll buy it sooner or later.
