Crouching ruler, hidden diplomat.

Sengoku, a strategic overlook on the powerstruggles within feudal Japan, now DRM-free on GOG.com with a launch discount of 50%.

The great Emperor, direct descendant of the goddess and supreme ruler of the land of the Rising Sun, no longer commands the respect of his lords. As the door to your private chambers slides back into place, you begin to unfold the newly-received parchment which speaks of seizing opportunities and reaping mutual benefits. You let the message burn, the smell mingling with incense mid-air, carrying with it your thoughts on the powerplays necessary to appoint a humble clan lord as Japan's sole ruler .

Sengoku is all about planning ahead and adjusting your strategy to best utilize any newly-formed alliances or recently-discovered betrayals that threaten to derail your steady rise to power. You will first need to seize control of your clan and secure your stronghold before setting out to claim the throne of the entire Empire, being always mindful of the religious factions operating in the background. A silver tongue, a strong army and a competent heir to carry on your conquering legacy are your primary concerns as you negotiate, double-cross or violently impose your rule over 16th century Japan and become the supreme leader of the land of the Rising Sun.

Use subterfuge and military strength to become feudal Japan's new ruler in Sengoku, available now, DRM-free on GOG.com. Backstab it with a 50% discount that will last until January 10th, 1:59 PM GMT.
Wishlisted for now. I'm still undecided if I want this or not. On the one hand I'm completely addicted to anything Sengoku era, on the other hand I'm not the biggest fan of RTS games (mainly because I suck at them).

Maxvorstadt: Hm? Is this a remake of "Lords of the Rising Sun"?
Are you talking Fabled Lands?

WBGhiro: Ah man, it's not Sengoku Rance

So is this Crusader kings but in nippon?
The UI and game looks very much like it and the engine is well developed & modable. So it would make no sense if it was not using that engine.

Based on the steam release date I would say it is a predecessor to CK 2. There are no DLC's listed on steam, chances are the game is less modable then it's younger siblings.

Unless you play multiplayer, that should not be a problem : Paradox grand strategy games like CK or Sengoku play at a very slow pace with active pause, adjustable speed and autopause when a major event occurs. The only point at which you have to be vigilant is when your armies and your enemy's are moving between regions.

Frankly, I suck mightily at RTS too, and even I find the pace of Paradox GS games relaxing ^^
Another interesting looking game by Paradox. Now which one should I pick up?

That's good news.^^

The game sounds a lot more appealing all of a sudden. Thank you.
I want it! How does it compare to Sword of the Samurai?
Nice release gOg. Thanks. Game from my favorite historical era.
Though I'd rather see Shogun Total War games here.
Also, wasn't crouching tiger hidden dragon Chinese?
This is the third game within a week ( For the Glory: A Europa Universalis Game , Darkest Hour: A Hearts of Iron Game ) from Paradox that i add to my wishlist .

Is this one any more or less accessible than the other Paradox Grand Strategies that I lose at miserably?

I want to reward Paradox for releasing here (and get them to release Cities Skylines...), but...
Another nice release from Paradox..

Nevermind.
I really really love this game, but I can't help but feel it could've been even better.
I wish Paradox will release an expansion to further flesh out the game some more.
Or get a Sengoku 2 done with similar depth as the Rome+Expansion.
Sadly that won't happen.

Still, wishlisted and will get it once I get my paycheck.
