Zoidberg: Count 2 hours, 2 hours and a half.

Read the rules first then on your first game you can stick to the reference sheet that's one page.

MartiusR: Thanks Gypsy and Zoidberg. I'm usually checking this stuff before buying any board game, since I'm playing mostly with my siblings, they simply don't like if game is taking more than 1-1,5 hours or has too much elements/stuff to deal with. Which I totally understand - I remember when we've played for the first time in Relic (base game), which took about 3 hours and everyone was tired and annoyed.
There's a lot of decisions involved but the turns do go on quick, so not much to wait between turns and you still think about your own during that time.
To be honest looking at the art and unit design this game is better be made into real time strategy game, or even mech action game. Turning it into board game felt like wasted potential. Imagine if the game was like Total Assembly's Total War series.

Well, at least it is very faithful to the original boardgame.

As I asked for in a few other topics, I would like very much video game adaptations of the other original expansions of Scythe.

Niggles: Obvious question. How is the AI ?
Not that good. I've never played before and in my first game got just over half the score of "bot medium". Then I won the next three against "bot medium", "bot hard", and 4x"bot hard". There isn't a harder setting. In the last one, the second place opponent chose to attack a spot that I could defend (giving me the victory) when I suspect they could have attacked one that I couldn't defend (possibly I would have just won anyway at the next turn, although maybe not if the others also went after me). I do play strategy games some but I'm not all that good at them.

There is no manual; the Rules button in the game (under Options) just opens a browser trying to link to a pdf. My game system is offline and I don't think I typoed the URL but got a meta-404 error ("An Error Occurred While Attempting to Retrieve a Custom Error Document"). Hopefully GOG can fix this and include the rules with the game or at least as an extra. Sometimes it isn't obvious why things don't work (I think there might be a rule about crossing rivers near a tundra, although clicking the Riverwalk button showed an arrow at that crossing but the game wouldn't actually let me cross).

I didn't realize there is a DLC. It seems to just add two additional players, mostly pointless but obnoxious to charge extra for it. The UI has a number of problems, including that a bunch of important information is in mouse over text that doesn't appear right away, requiring me to take my hand off the mouse to keep it still enough to read it. I also noticed a minor animation issue twice in my four games.

All in all, while I don't think I'll ask for a refund, I am tempted to and regret the purchase. I will be avoiding Asmodee in the future.
I wonder why the soundtrack is delivered as a free DLC instead of as an extra, like such things used to be done. Are they planning to add a price later?

Good catch, I hadn't noticed it was free. Some of the tracks are quite nice IMO. I agree it should just be an extra. Makes it a bit less disappointing when game itself (at least the AI) isn't all that good.

Of course, in another lack of perception I failed to notice that I had added biped to my cart and since I had wallet funds there wasn't any extra step in the order. So I guess I'll be trying that one too :/.
Dieselpunk is a rare, yet always awesome, type of setting. Looks interesting, but it would be even more appealing as a full-fledged TBS.
