Lin545: Thanks!
But can GOG make a Linux installer for this ?!
avatar
Ganni1987: Technically yes but in the contract it may not have been allowed, all the previous id Software games all have a native Linux port and they're still released as Windows only.
All of the Linux ports were technically "unofficial". Zenimax has stated outright they refuse to support "unofficial binaries". GoG is short of luck unless they or someone else can convince Zenimax otherwise - good luck with that as Zenimax's lawyers will argue it creates unecessary liabilities.

TheyLive1984: I do not think there are fkn swastikas in this game, what is the reason garman customers get fkd again? But nice releaase for the rest of the world anyway....
One reason is because of some violent cutscene but I heard the censored version just makes you look at a wall the whole time. Youtube probably has the scene.

Lifthrasil: Of course not available in Germany. Stupid German storefront!

reex: hello
does this have mp like steam?
avatar
Kayx291: Quake 4 on Steam doesn't use the client for multiplayer. Regardless from what store ya got. Everyone can play MP.
That's reassuring, but the GOG store page doesn't list multi-player under the game features section, and it also doesn't mention anything about being single-player only under the game description like Doom 3: BFG Edition. Is this just an oversight on GOG's part then?

I would never transmit a PayPal password over some free VPN or TOR, does that make me paranoid?

No.That is common sense.Stay frosty ;).Cheers

It is always advisable to change your Paypal password on a regular basis, so ... change it right after using a VPN service.

Nope. It's safest to transmit it to some Nigerian prince, though ;P

Jokes aside I'm not even close to be german but DAAAAAAAAAMN this censorship S-U-C-K-S !!!
If I was german now in here I'd be a little pissed. Q4 (loved it on the x360) and Doom 3 are amazing games and should be enjoyed by everyone.
I loved Far Cry, liked Crysis and Crysis Warhead but disliked Call of Duty 4; Might I like this? Maybe better go look at some videos...

Quake4 is in the Ubuntu and Debian repos. The data files _should_ be installable from the game-data-packager package. I'd imagine distros like Arch would have similar packages.

I'll try the Ubuntu one later and report back. My download speeds are painfully slow, so it will take me a while to get the game from GOG.
high rated
Not in Germany. :(
But hey... Tease us ;)

Quake IV is boring as shit. It might be the most generic, bland shooter I've ever played, actually. It's not bad, per se... just... really not good.

As someone who considers you fundamentally paranoid...I actually think you're absolutely right on this occasion. Transmitting a PayPal password over a free VPN and then changing it over a direct connection, however, is a more secure solution.

@GOG: You know what this link is??

A gameplay video of Quake 4, fully translated and dubbed to spanish. Just like it got released here in Spain.

Once more you seem unable to deliver.
I have this game on Steam; I hope it ends up on GOG Connect later on! :)
