Saturn500: Well, since you're still working with TotalBiscuit, I'd like to ask how I would go about deactivating my account?
Go here and select "account cancellation" as the problem type.

bigsilverhotdog: I want to join on the hype and fun but the pricing and especially GOG's endorsement of this greed turned me off. I can't support this game, or GOG's endorsement of this greedy pricing model where each little extra is $$$. I didn't come to GOG for this.
Its not gogs fault.
I think it may be due to the kickstarter.
If they take less for the Royal edition they will undercut their backers and that woudnt make them happy either.

With that said i do think its a bit much for a digital collectors edition.
Personal opinion and i dont blame gog for that, but woud likly not invest that much money.
Not sure yet though since ive heard that obsidian was in some kind of financial trouble and only the kickstarter saved them so i migth upgrade my version to support the studio financially.
The game looks great, but even at the base price I shall just have to drool for now.

Not really excited about the "double the price to get some extra digital stuff" thing either - not just for this but for any release.

ShadowWulfe: Yes, but if GOG shows up first on the Torrents for a major release, publishers use that as an excuse to say that the DRM protected X amount of imaginary sales from piracy.

I get that it happens regardless, but timing is kind of important.
What the heck, why do you put drm free and piracy on the same level?

DRM free isn't about making pirating easier: it's about making NOT pirating easier...

Don't make it easier for dumbasses to be dumbasses, dumbass...

The game sure looks good but the price point is way too high at the moment, especially since bonus stuff is now charged separately which was not the case before on gog. Anyway on the wishlist it goes.

Edit: Also not nice to see that gog has censored and removed all the pre release gog mixes for Pillars of Eternity of which one of them was mine. Not cool.

And... bonus content as in... ringtones...

Seriously, ringtones?

Damn, well done Obsidian and Paradox, way to look like idiots... :/

Not a welcome change from the very nice Cities: Skylines release, at quite a decent price...

Grargar: Hmmm?
Yeah, I know there are some exceptions on gog mostly Kickstarter games but Pillars really tops it.

What are you going on about...?

I need to just go ahead and remember my Obsidian account and just grab my darned key.
Anyone notice the review that only states the guy is going to buy it? XD

I don't know what is making me laugh harder, the review itself or the idea that the guy thinks he actually contributed a viable constructive review. XD

"The Most Captivating & Epic RPG In Recent Memory

I'll probably pick it up when it goes on sale"

Looks legit.
Interesting RPG although probably a bit oversold (successor of BG... yeah as if this would be possible).

Might buy it later when the price is lower.
Unfortunately Pillars of Eternity gives a first impression of being more about a money grabbing excercise than anything else.

I pledged $50 at Kickstarter, but when I logged onto the Obsidian website to get my reward I had to go through several steps of "we want to sell you more" before I could actually get my hands on the game. A process that took me more than 30 minutes because of lots and lots of crashes.

The so called goodies are also way too expensive.
The price will come down when we have no backlog. :)

Besides, I have a standing principle of not ordering Obsidian games out of the gate. They're like a fine wine and get better with age. So I'm waiting a bit.

Nonetheless, I still haven't read a review. I need to go see if it's any good!

AndyBuzz: Is the voting still relevant or have you made your mind?
I voted drood, it's by far the coolest choice of the 3. :)
I already started when you voted but thanks for vote anyway. It was interesting to see what people prefer.
I went with druid as it got most votes (by far, the monk only caught up later) and I am enjoying it so far.

It surprised me how "unpopular" is priest compared to the other 2.
