GOG.com: Release: Peaks of Yore
Interesting concept.
This one definitely goes to the wishlist.
If I had to name one (minor) gripe, it would probably be that you (assumingly) only have to climb up - not also down again.
A tad unrealistic, but I get, that climb-downs are too hard to implement, due to their nature.
Somewhat wacky game, and wacky is always nice to see. :)
Legit thought and expected an 18+, going by the name ;)
I've got to admit, that Y on the title is dangerously close to a V.
Hello everyone!

Well, this is definitely a game I am interested in. It reminds me of my mountain climbing experience from the past.
I like the old century setting of the game and hence, the avoidance of any high tech equipment.

The general gameplay/climbing mechanic seem to be a bit more complex than in the similar game "Peak Condition" (free on itch.io).

Quite some time I have not heard or seen of it, but thanks to Anders Grube Jensen / TraipseWare and GOG.COM for bringing "Peaks of Yore" here!

However, just from the trailer, I do not get the same sense of freedom or flexibility in finding your own climbing routes...
(In "Peak Condition" it is a huge part of the gameplay to plan and find your route up and down, but it uses procedural generated mountains based on simpler block geometry elements and only a form of ice climbing with two climbing axes.)

Can anyone, please, who as already played "Peaks of Yore" confirm, whether there is only one predefined path per mountain, or if there are multiple ways to reach a summit?

Thank you!

Kind regards,
foxgog
I'm a bit confused. In the first trailer, there's colour. The second trailer and the screenshot are all black and white (or sepia tone or whatever you want to call it). So how does the game actually look like? Is it just somethign we get to choose?

Anyway, this looks kind of interesting, but also might turn out just plain boring, or otherwise unplyable for me (I don't usually have a problem with it, but the trailers made me feel motion sickness is a possibility).
This game definetly goes to my wishlist. It is eomthing new, something I've never played before!
Not a bad idea, could be interesting.

I looked up footage on youtube. Some clips are in black and white, and some are in colour. I think you either pick the colour theme or it changes based on gameplay.

Me too. I need to get my mind out of the gutter.
