Oxenfree, a thrilling adventure of supernatural teenager struggles, is now available for Windows and Mac, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 25% launch discount.

According to popular culture, about 86% of midnight ghost hunts end in tragedy. When teenagers are involved that number goes up by an additional 12%. But Alex and her friends are too spirited and intrepid to be fazed by cautionary statistics. And It's only after a spooky rift opens over the island's decommissioned military base and bizarre happenings start bleeding into their reality that they begin to realize this particular party may not end well. Perhaps Alex shouldn't have brought her new stepbrother along for the ride, after all…

Oxenfree gives you extensive control over your interactions with the rest of the group, as you cautiously explore the island's haunted past. Your radio will be picking up eerie signals, allowing you to communicate with otherworldly entities, some of which may not have your best interests in mind. You must navigate the ghastly horrors and complicated relationships, and witness your choice of words lead into a variety of endings which may not always fall under the classification of "happy".

Face the combined challenges of ghostly encounters and teenager anxieties in Oxenfree, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 25% launch discount will last until March 20, 4:59 PM GMT.

In the press:

"OXENFREE: The emotional adventure game you need to know about" - IGN
"A mix of Freaks and Geeks, Poltergeist and the best teen films of the ’80s" – Polygon
"Part teen drama, part terrifying ghost story" – Kill Screen
So is "Release Monday" now a thing? Two games and a preorder, better than some recent Tuesdays/Thursdays.

EDIT: Oh, and the game itself sounds interesting. Though I think you should definitely bundle it with this one.

This game looked promising before it showed up here today.

I scored it! :)

Thanks for a Monday release!

I hope there are many mystery and horror games coming out this year!
Shouldn't it be free as FREE is it's last name?
Point & click adventure- great
Play as a rebelious teenager- do I have to?
80s movies- great!
teen drama- no... just no.

All in all... I think I'll wait.

The circle's now complete: we got OlliOlli and Oxenfree ;D
Are the screams good?
Looks good. They don't have any Linux release officially planned, but the "are looking into it". I hope they make it. :)
98% of teenage midnight ghost hunts end in tragedy?

Those aren't very good odds.

The unplanned pregnancies alone are staggering.

This game looks all kinds of interesting by the way. And not even in my typical genre / gameplay / subject matter styles of preference. Not sure what it is about it by I'm intrigued!

Yah, I'm not keen on 1 in 50 teenagers surviving their stupidity. That's still too many.
I think I saw this on sale somewhere recently.. I definitely encountered it recently.
Definitely not for me for this (regional) price.
* Regional price for Oxenfree is $28.89 instead of $19.99 in GB

Is there any reason why this game costs nearly 50% more in Great Britain???

*Blah blah blah* Unwinding of long term pound sterling to dollar currency exhange positions *blah blah*

But really, whenever value of the pound is in question, I just default to blaming George Soros.

I'm in a cheeky mood this afternoon. And I THINK ~25 year old currency jokes are the definition of "niche."

The UK has a much better class of hauntings.
