ok, the itch page is more informative. I have nothing against actually free games or supporting worthy developers (though I don't pay for pdfs and mp3s), but 'free game + buy cut content for $15' is not a 'full game' for free. I mean if big devs/publishers can pull shit like this (the quarry is the most recent example of 'free to play', which is a 45-minute demo), surely small indies can do the same for more visibility, and unfortunately some of them do.

What exactly on the itch page make you think this is the case here?

The base game is like 8-9 hours, not 45 minutes. It's an actually full visual novel, that even has enough to support multiple playthroughs with different choices that contain relatively little overlap.

The DLCs aren't "cut content", they're extra/additional content made after the base game was finished, to add even more stuff you can do in the game. Which is... exactly what DLCs are supposed to be, no?

Actually, according to Python, it's more expensive than a game costing $59.99

More seriously, there's nothing preventing me from doing this, and I sometimes like doing things that are a little strange, so I'll let this game sit on my wishlist for the moment.

I've installed it and tried it a bit and I have to say: for VN that has its main selling point on giving the option to change everything and influence everything it is an actual pity that there does not seem to be any way to change the sex of the potential relationship (it is always male). At least that's the case with the base game only. Makes me wonder if this will be possible with one of the DLCs.

I don't believe so. From what I understand, this title boasts only a relationship with the one guy - either as a friend, or for romancing (which sounds like you're not inclined to do so xD)

If you'd like a female romance option, hope for dev's other game in the series being released here, Our Life: Now and Forever. It has two options for relationships - female and genderfluid - and again either person is available for befriending or romancing.

My point still stands: this site is at the very least lacking features that can help old customers and newcomers to the site to stay away from this kind of sh**. That one page asking "are you mature [+18]?" is a freaking joke. I really think GoG should separate sites or something like this at this point.

Suddenly it went from the somewhat family friend site from a couple of years ago to one in which you have to really supervise and sort things out if you want to stay away from this kind of content.

No longer can you give some dollars to children in the family and say "here is your birthday present, go there and grab something you find interesting" (least you want your children to spend time in a Rape Fest Hentai such as some Visual Novels from Kagura or a Really Gay Simulator such as this one).

Like I said, if that's the case than the whole promise of being able to chose whatever you want is not actually true, don't you think? You can change your own gender and your own pornoums yet you cannot change your potential relationship. Sounds a bit to me like a missed opportunity and they should in my opinion create a DLC that is able to fix this.

I'm not worried about violent games, indeed. Violence is a thing of life, I'm more worried if you're the good guy or the bad guy in a violent game - most games you're the good guy, so I'm not worried about that.

Sexual stuff can break the mind of a child, it really induces acedia and it's a pitty that decades of real academic work is being thrown in the junk in favor of the subversive new stuff.

Violent games are unharmful for a child because violence is part of the life. Sexual games are harmful for a kid because sexuality is not part of the life. Got it. I knew sometimes I would learn something new. What's next, are you telling me, unicorns DO exist?

Sexual games are a form of pornography. People "play with one hand" many of those "games". There is a huge pile of research on this topic, of how harmful this is to a child's brain. Anything that induces sexual thoughts before the brain is mature is likely to harm development. There aren't such conclusive studies on violent games: no one has been able to link exposure to violent games (or movies) and any harm to the development of children.

You can call it whatever you want, but that's what we have.
