Wolfram_von_Thal: I'm not a fan of the aesthetics in the vein of RPGMaker XP+, everything seems too clean, to straight, not enough pixelation, too sterile for my taste. A shame because the concept sounds interesting enough.
I agree. So far, the two RPGMaker games released today have some novelty factor to them. But the game engine is a dangerous territory to curate since there are loads of poor quality generic ones.
Aha! I knew that All Dogs go to Heaven was a stinking lie!

And gosh, I love it when RPGmaker's obvious signs shine right on though.

Addendum: With information provided by MarianFA, I no longer have any desire to even give this game a glancing suggestion.

"voice over from the American spokesman for Coca Cola, IBM and Chrysler"

I honestly have no idea how I'm supposed to take that.
After reading some reviews, my temptation has abated. What is NOLF though, I wonder?

Wait ... No One Lives Forever? I'll have at that, probably.

Most random blurb indeed.
high rated
It sounded like the game had possibilities until I went in search of reviews and found this:

Read the paragraph under "Final Thoughts."

No thanks. This is definitely not what I am looking for in a game.

Mortius1: unless enough players unlock the genocide achievement and leave no NPCs living at the end of the game.

Ancient-Red-Dragon: Untrue statements like that are misleading to consumers.

This game has no Achievements on GOG.

Yet on Steam it does.

Hence, it is another case of second-class treatment for GOG customers.
Who cares about achievments though? They are utterly useless, they don't give you points that would allow you to buy another game with them. Achievements haven't been a thing for the first decades of videogames, there is no need for them.

Janin Hosanna Charles Barkler...what did I just read?

I'd post the excerpt, but it feels like it'd be a bit too violent for this forum.

Uh hey, GOG. You know this thing called vetting? Defined as, 'A checking or investigation'?

Huge curation fail. A Generic RPG Maker project with this kind of content is exactly what I would want them to leave out. Watching the youtube video by the reviewer, this part seems to have been written by an edgy teen. Something they write in their journal, because if they share it with their friends and the school finds out, they would get sent to the psychiatrist. Not a professional game that belongs in a store with "curation."

"The most comprehensive RPG-Maker game ever" you mean! (according to their itch.io page).

Anyway, this is all really laughable. GOG's "curation" is like a study at ineptitude (or insanity) at this point.

No.

For all NOLF-fans: There are prepared installers which work perfectly on Win 10 for both games available at Nolfrevival.
I tend to agree unless the chipsets are 100% custom made, then it may be worth a look, but seeing as I'm pretty familiar with the program, it sort of ruins it for me, but I do love the cast shadows!

World War II: Panzer Claws

(I say this while realizing these have "mixed" reviews on Steam)

Yeah, I just saw the part on youtube. That's utterly sick and deranged. I really can't understand that GOG accepts such things.
I don't mind and probably would have given this game a fair chance because there are good Game Maker games out there. Looking up reviews on Steam as I usually do the thing with the police station makes me want to see this game removed rather than giving it a fair chance.

Rather you consider giving this one a chance to grow its community: https://www.jadawinindiegames.de/index.php/en/ . While it doesn't look like much this is a creation of love, coded by that one person. This deserves support and store space on GG.

This will continue to be ignored of course and the other will be able to try to make money from existing assets and clicketi-clicked together sandbox environment work. Alas money saved here, thanks, I guess, GoG. :)
