Our favorite cave dudes - Joe & Mac are back in a modern version of a classic 2D action platformer!

New Joe & Mac - Caveman Ninja is now available on GOG with a -10% launch discount that lasts until December 8th, 9 AM UTC.

Time to embark on a super fun adventure in a prehistoric jungle, where Joe & Mac live in a peaceful and cool village. That however, couldn’t last long. A bogus bunch of Neanderthal snatched all the village’s women and now it’s up to our protagonists to save them all while fighting against deadly dinosaurs and carnivorous plants.

The HD version of this famous arcade game is crazy, colorful, fun and quirky, but now also longer, better, faster, stronger!

Expect varied side-scrolling 2D stages in a true arcade game style, a brand new design, new game modes (with co-op mode included) and a bunch of new features.

Pick up your club and bash your way through!

These will still play out fine as provided by GOG or emulated with MAME (both games come with MAME compatible ROMs).

P.S.: Am I the only one who likes the blocky art style of older arcade games better than these new HD reskinnings?

I don't mind the new drawings, but I don't like so much the coloring.
Back in the days artists tried to add depth by using more skin color gradation, but these days most artists - including these - go for a flat look with only few colors. That's a shame.
The backgrounds are wonderful, which makes these flat charakters stick out too much.

This wouldn't have been so bad, if the original wasn't already available at a fraction of the price. And the visual style reminds me of the new version of Toki, which I didn't really like all that much.

That olden pixel art style still looks fantastic, even today, and I very much prefer it too. So, no, you are not the only one (there are at least two of us, haha!).

Some scenes seem to taken from cuphead.

Are the graphical requirements right?
Similar game Wonder Boy can confortably be played in pretty much any non-retro computer. Is this game mining ethereum on the background or what?

I think the new graphics are fine.
It's just a shame that the trailer only shows us about 5 seconds of them in action (while having a total runtime of 45 seconds).

You're getting quite a deal on GoG. The Switch version is $40.00 CDN. Before the discount the GoG version is $5 less. After the discount it's about $9 less. I'll get it here, when I can.

May be the case in Canada, but in Germany the base price is the same for both versions: €29,99

Made by the same studio behind the Toki remake and Asterix Slap'em All so games should be in good hands.
