Kisima Inŋitchuŋa.

Never Alone Arctic Collection, half climactic puzzle-platformer, half lesson on a different world, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com. Look out for the release at 67% off in the Big Fall Sale 24-hour Daily Deals!

Some games are good. Some games are important. Some are honest. Never Alone is all of those things.
Not long ago, the indigenous Alaskan community found themselves searching and searching for an investment that will both bring in more money to the community, and help promote their rather unfamiliar culture across the world. So, what better way to do that than by funding a video game?
Never Alone is as much a game as it is a historical piece on a culture most of us have heard of, but are hardly familiar with. There's love for the subject matter at every turn. The story, an old Iñupiaq folk tale, is narrated in the native language and supplemented with beautiful cutscenes that mimic the traditional ink art of the Alaskan people. As you play you'll unlock short videos, legitimately interesting cultural insights into the realities of growing up in an entirely different world than we're used to.

The Arctic Collection includes single player and local co-op, as well as a few extra hours of gameplay and a new folk tale with the Fox Tales DLC.

Life is treacherous and sudden in the snow covered wastelands of Alaska, and Never Alone Arctic Collection brings it out with love and respect, now DRM-free on GOG.com.

IAmSinistar: Shady stuff, GOG. Glad I grabbed it on day one, but they really do owe us an explanation.

Konrad: Soo, here's the somewhat unusual situation with this game's discount:

In short - the game will be discounted for a total of 72 hours during the Big Fall Sale - so as usual, the original end date listed was simply 72 hours after launch.

We couldn't go with the usual back-to-back discount in this particular case, so the game will be back on sale during the Fall Sale two more times in the 24h Daily Deals - for a total of 48 more hours.
I updated the newspost again to make sure that's even more clear now. :)
This is why GoG gets my cash.
Simple basic decency to reply to the community.

Keep up the good work

Will Way of the Samurai also be on sale during the big fall sale?
Because you guys ended the discount four days early for that one. :P

*Again. But I won't. But I would, should and totally could.

It was an insta-buy too, and guys the game is so good! Worth it. Made with that native people of Alaska. Just a tour in a myth! Worth every cent.

Klumpen0815: So, do I see it right, that the game will still be on promo for a few days?

avatar
deonast: Yes I was wondering the same thing. I'd just assumed they were observing it so it was a guess but maybe there is another way of measuring it.
avatar
Klumpen0815: You just notice it if you lose about 100 in a week or two while the number should be going up instead. Happened a few times and I've seen tinyE going from 4 digits to 3, to 4, to 3, etc... over and over and again, and some regular members that are definitely not scammers going from a few hundred positive into the negatives in a very short time.
It was so excessive for a while, that the whole system has lost its meaning and when it comes to trusting members, I rather look up older posts of them instead of looking at this number by now.
Ah well that makes sense. I guess I don't frequent the forums or look at the ratings enough to notice those large shifts on some people's ratings. Just hear about it from time to time.

I remember seeing a post on here in GOG blue saying that the sale would be back on for two more days, but it doesn't seem to actually have been updated in the news post(s). Does anyone know if that's still the plan?

Right. So could you point me to where this particular part is reflected?

Ah, just saw it too. Would like to ask something then: How come the windows version weighs 1.9 gbs in terms of download size while the linux version is 3.9 gbs instead? Just curious why the filesize difference is so big...
