Thorgard: I confronted the developer with the missing features (sandbox and scenarios) and thats the answer, because advertised as an official feature available at launch (in the offcial FAQ):

"Currently the game has the campaigns but scenarios are still under work and will be there in the future (although we do not know when yet, you can be certain it will be in the game). The FAQ is saying it “will” have it. Not it does already and we have never lied about any features or content of the game nor need to. For clarification purposes, we will emphasize this in the FAQ both on the Steam forums and Discord so others do not get potentially mislead about it as well. If this is a deal breaker for you, we are sorry to hear that and we recommend to check back in the future once that is implemented.

Thank you for your interest in the game."
Well then, I will wait awhile to buy the game.
mmmm the biblical name and reference...

Babylonian, actually, a sadly fallen dynasty.
I got into city builders from Seth's YouTube channel and Been digging all of them. Very nice to see they are still being done today!
OST is in the game folder for the 2 people interested.

joveian: I was going to say that "classic" probably means "has those really annoying walkers that get lost going around the block", but if they got around that by not including those mechanics, I'd personally be fine with that. I'm the one always complaing that builders have too much "challenge" and don't let you just build stuff.
There are walkers but you set their path with waypoints. You can make perfect neighborhoods with perfect coverage. No more need for roadblocks.

If you are looking for a chill-out game then maybe this will be your cup of tea. I personally would prefer something like "Islanders" for that relaxing effect.

Nalkoden: There are no challenges in this game.

While graphics are great there are NO city ambient sounds. Make it seem depressing and sterile.
A pity to hear that. I've been waiting for this to show up, but the fact that it's missing certain features that i expect in a good city building game (especially one that resembles the venerable Impressions games) makes it wishlisted for me at the moment.

I'd understand if it bear the "In Development" tag, but going final and still missing this kind of stuff? *shrugs* I'll definitely keep an eye on it, because it looks g-o-r-g-e-o-u-s, though this alone can't justify a purchase.

Yea, I was so disappointed. I hope they add these things eventually or even if modders manage to add them. Oh, that's something I forgot to add - it has a Mod Manager. So there's still hope.

I'm just reminded when going to bible study (mandatory due to parents) there were rules in how the pronunciation was so you knew how to proper pronounce the name(s). So splitting the name to Neb-u-chad-nez-zar would be the easy way to properly say it. I just really remember that from when i was.... 14? (Damn, 20+ years ago... i feel old)

Thanks, sounds much better :). I see from an early playthrough that it does seem to start from an empty map as expected and does look like the old Impressions games but with some improvements. Has anyone hit non-trivial bugs? One reviewer mentions bugs but does not give any details. I guess it would make sense to wait a few weeks (no launch discount anyway), but I'm definitely going to pick this one up.

Also there is this observation.

I hadn't seen that one before. The description makes it sound a bit like Block'hood but without the vertical focus, although also a less complex simulation. I like the complexity of Block'hood, I should probably play that one more, although I think it has an overly vertical focus that makes it annoying to plan. I like when the simulation itself is fairly complex, but without things that feel tacked on just to give a challenge.

Reglisse: Steam users say no Sandbox Mode...It's true?
Sandbox is great to play endlessly ^^
avatar
Thorgard: Yes thats true, no sandbox and scenaries included at the moment :(
The no sandbox is a deal killer for me. Just is not a citybuilder without a sandbox.

Sounds to me like the game was pushed ou the door too quick.
I will buy it when they have Sandbox and the other promised features. Otherwise, no saie.

Thing is the game does not have features iit was promised to have.
Mod are great, but mods should not do the developers work for them.

Nebuchadnezzar is being streamed at the moment on GOG's Twitch channel, in case anyone wants to take a look at what gameplay looks like.
