Use your sharp eye, pure heart and all of your wits to defeat the evil in an exciting fantasy hidden object puzzle adventure game – Myths Of Orion: Light From The North is now out on GOG with a -25% launch discount until September 11th, 1 PM UTC!

Long time ago, in the Realm of Orion, a powerful, but greedy wizard collected knowledge from all around the world. And thus came to write the Three Books: books of Knowledge, Law and Magic. The Books eventually gave him ultimate powers. Blinded by his powers, he used them not to prosper, but for chaos! One day the mighty enchantress Salina gathered all of her strength and courage and stole the Books from the Wizard. Under the cover of a night, she took the Books and her child, baby Meredith, and ran far, far away to the north – to the very edge of the world. And so, the years and decades passed by... Now it's up to you now to help young enchantress fight the evil before the Realm of Orion sinks to chaos!

Now on GOG!

P-E-S: Makes me wonder what ever happened with Artifex Mundi. After a bit they just stopped releasing games here. =/
They still have some of the non-hidden object games here like Irony Curtain or My Brother Rabbit. But even on steam the last released game is from 2020

Eminin: When will you release your other games here on gog? :)
avatar
kspes: We're working on them, one by one :) Got any favorites you'd like us to prioritise?
(...)
I am a big fan of classical Adventure Games, so my priority list is

- Kaptain Brawe - An Unexpected Intermission
- Hotel
- Iron Roses

As you can see here, I try to "collect" the adventure games on gog here:
https://www.adventure-treff.de/forum/topic/24856

And with Cataia Games, I will have to add the HOPAs now, with the first release of Myths Of Orion: Light From The North :)

Eminin: - Kaptain Brawe - An Unexpected Intermission
This is actuall a small 30 minute demo that we made for the kickstarter campaign in 2014, but we do have plans to include it into Kaptain Brawe as a free gift to players. We'll have to fix and improve some aspects of the demo first though.

Eminin: - Hotel
Certainly! We're planing to do some more work on this game before re-releasing it, similar to what we did for Legend of Crystal Valley recently.

avatar
Eminin: - Iron Roses
Same. This game actually had some bad game design choices which we intend to fix first, improve the same way as Legend of Crystal Valley and Hotel, then release it.

So both of these adventure games are on Ice at the moment, but I think it's possible we'll do them in 2025.

In the mean time we're focusing on brining our other games to GOG, probably HOPAs first, then the rest of them.

This likely makes no sense!
1) I am powerful wizard (OK, I could own the world)
2) I am greedy (nonsense starts, considering 1), but OK)
3) I write books (for what purpose, mine and mine alone?)
4) Books give me powers (nonsense continue: the power draws within me)

The wizard should've acquired the books by mean ways, not write them!

When playing these HOPA it's mainly for relaxing and a change of pace from the other games I play. The story is there, but most of the time it's pretty cheesy. I don't think it's the strong point of those game, or it is but for those who like it this way. There's maybe some counter exemple. But, Yeah when I'm playing this genre I won't go nitpicking about the story (yet human is a paradox and I did so in the past (review on Bigfish I posted)).

Makes sense... Thinking about it, I'd rather want to be surprised (by a piece of game, music, art, ...) than having the regular increment of (game, music, art, ...; don't have much IRL time for the rest :-( ). Oh, boy.
