It’s time to play the cult FPS with a huge graphical upgrade, including Ray Traced Emissive Lighting. Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition update is now available on GOG.COM!

Upgrades include DLSS 2.0 Inclusion, Ray Traced Emissive Lighting used throughout, FOV slider, increased framerates, and display resolutions. A Ray Tracing capable GPU is the minimum spec for this beast, and you can upgrade right now for free if you already own Metro Exodus.

GOG GALAXY users can access the update by activating the beta channel for Enhanced Edition. For offline users, there's a separate installer for this version available in their libraries. For more details, please check here on how to access Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition on GOG.

Mr.Mumbles: Eh I'm fine without anything fancy. Although I have a 2060 Super I never got it for its ray-tracing ability - it's too weak for most of that anyway. It's not like I was planning to upgrade for a number of years even if graphics cards were attainable at reasonable prices.
maybe if you're playing in 4k, but my laptop with a 2060 plays control, cyberpunk2077, and metro exodus just fine with ray tracing turned on.

Probably sounds like a jet ready for take-off, too. =P
Might try this out on the new 3080 card, shame it’s not going to make it a better game.
I thought this game just came out?

beta channel ok. i guess its because the offline installer suck at big filesizes.id prefer it if like wolfenstein german and international edition, there at the the top, next to overview (see attached file) menu you could just pick it instead of beta channel config selection despite gogs slow crappy offline installers. they need badly some improvements @cdprojectredgroup, even pirates get better installers nowadays. the fitgirl criticism is valid and it doesnt help developers either.

update: so i now also downloaded the offline installer and it seems, it is one exe and the rest of the files are just .bin files. so it is just one installer setup.exe. thats good.

the answer to the question "why pirate installers are better then gog offline installers?" which arise from this observation, is because cdproject/gog are busy with shoving money up the as#es of ceos/shareholders and pr (to spread more lies).

On my system (2060 super) that isn't the issue, it is pretty quiet most of the time even on (almost) max settings, but sometimes the coil whine gets out of hand. :P
Weirdly enough it revs up during menuing more often than actual gameplay. xD

haha. well, the fan does blow, ain't gonna lie. admittedly it was somewhat loud at first, then i set a fps limit of 60 in the nvidia control panel, and it seems to have helped quite a bit.

kingdom come deliverance made my fans blow harder and louder than any ray tracing enabld game tbh.
If you have the system to run it get the Enhanced Edition.. its fantastic.. here is a comparison but it looks so much better in game!
Thanks 4A for the enhancements and to GoG for leaving us with the original!

Themken: So, when is the Linux version for the non-enhanced version coming to GOG?
I'd like to know this too, better yet another question - is the enhanced version going to come as a Linux native too without being a Steam exclusive?

I went ahead and tried this enhanced version in Wine, couldn't get it to run at all. It's a good thing they kept the original version too, that one runs perfectly and I even finished it without issues including the DLC.

Swedrami: Offline installers.
Now that's a term I haven't read or seen being alluded to in an official GOG.com post in a long time.
And I duly appreciate it :)
Great updates! ^_^
Thank you
Other than the graphics improvements, are there any other changes over the standard edition? Like bug fixes, changes to quests, the interface or new items?
