Developed by Kojima Productions and PlatinumGames, METAL GEAR RISING: REVENGEANCE takes the renowned METAL GEAR franchise into exciting new territory with an all-new action experience – and it’s now available on GOG, with a -40% launch discount until July 11th, 1 PM UTC!

The game seamlessly melds pure action and epic story-telling that surrounds Raiden – a child soldier transformed into a half-human, half-cyborg ninja who uses his High Frequency katana blade to cut through any thing that stands in his vengeful path.

Now on GOG!
Hey all! Just a quick update regarding some region locks for MGR:

Region locks for METAL GEAR RISING: REVENGEANCE are the same as they are on other platforms (e.g. Steam). The game was available to purchase in some of the locked regions yesterday for a brief moment, which was our omission and we apologize for the confusion and any inconvenience that could have been caused by it.

kenny4816: Hey, quick question for those who bought metal gear solid 2.
Did it got removed from your GOG library (the one in the site, not the one in GOG GALAXY launcher) after it got delisted?
I read someone claiming it did, is that true?
I am asking because if it did get removed, then this game (revengeance) can be too
It was not removed from my GOG library. No delisted game has ever been removed from my GOG library. It was never ever missing temporarily either.

No, it's not true: https://imgur.com/a/TUS8V9a

I don't know who claimed this, but you should check this person's source

Classic!
Oh holy shit, now that's a very welcome surprise

Time to enact RULES OF NATURE AGAIN
Not that the Metal Gear I would expect or hope to see, but I'll take it nonetheless.
It is not a bad game but a bad price for such an old game (Yes, the game back from 2014 is already Old in my opinion). Almost 12 bucks, it's a robbery in broad daylight! Gog, why do you make such stupid decisions about the prices of the games? Why?
That's surprising...

This is the kind of game you play for the hack'n'slash gameplay, but you actually stay for the music and repeat it 5 times over just to listen each boss music again feeling that adrenaline bump.

Such a fun game, albeit too easy even on Hard. On Revengeance though, the last difficulty option, things get fun.

Tips for new players from a long time player:

Don't mash buttons. Breath. Think.
Parry in this game is an essential mechanic.
Don't try to dodge everything.
In this game you are rewarded for playing aggressively, chaining defense parries with continuous attacks.

There's nothing like this game on GOG right now.
I dare say not even DMC series plays like this.

Also:

There is probably a good chance of Bayonetta series coming here now!

I thought we'd get Bayonetta earlier tbh, but I can wait. :P

What I'm really hoping for is the king of character action games though; Devil May Cry. :)
Temptation! Fantastic game
Save file not generated
When you play the game, the MGR folder is automatically created
There's only one file called graphic option
I don't have an actual saved file does anyone know what this is like?
I got and played this game years ago in the mac app store for like 1€ (it was probably an error sale, still I was able to get it and play it).
Drm took it away from me and from konami I got Metal Gear 5 on steam (a denuvo game that I had to play on a windows installation that I had to format to get rid of denuvo) and from apple I got a 10€ credit for itunes but not this game.

Now I can finally buy it drm-free... and 12€ is an ok price for me to pay for a game that I already know I enjoy and want to play again.
It's just pure fun, adrenaline and music that change based on the boss fight stage. I love it.

Nergal01: Ah, good to see that Konami is still hanging around on occasion. Here's hoping we get more from them. :)

First Capcom, then Konami. Now all we need is some Sega goodness to complete the trinity.
Here's hoping it doesn't stop there - still a few japanese publishers left that either have released on GOG before but didn't bring the big guns yet (Bandai Namco) or would make their debuts on GOG, like Atlus or Koei Tecmo.

1) GOG does not make these decisions - prices are set by the publisher and/or developer.
2) 12 bucks for a game like this is not expensive by any means. We just got Resident Evil here for almost the same price and that one is way older. The age of the game has nothing to do with the value of the game. Question is: is it enough value for you? Does not seem to be so but that does not mean that it is objectively overprized at all.
