MarkoH01: Correct me if I am wrong, but here it says they finally updated the game, or not?

Ah I didn't know. The game is still marked as outdated on the 2nd-class list, but the doc is a bit behind for now.

Maybe you should tell Omega or one of the other guys so that they'll remove it or at least change the entry. I am at work right now, so my possibilities are unfortunately a bit limited :)

Well, I'm actually going to start updating the doc later, but it will take a while.

Why is the Linux version missing, Klei?

avatar
thoughtwalker: The same thing happened with "The Talos Principle" (Croteam) and "Teleglitch" (Paradox Interactive) - Linux and Mac OS Versions exist on Steam, but we only get Windows on GOG. Why?
Also a lot of Demos on GOG (e.g.: "The Pedestrian") are Windows only.
Add Blasphemous and whole bunch of other games to this list. I'm starting to suspect it's not just developers' fault and GOG are simply doing some very poor job of supporting Linux releases here, so developers don't even care to try.

Went to add this to my cart and saw the glorious "buy as a gift" instead! Thanks for the conditional freebie!

linux version? hello?

Does this release at least include original game's versions as goodies, or we are basically left without drm-free linux build completely?

Nope. :(

Cool! But where are the Mac OSX and Linux versions? Come on!
I wanted to buy it to play on non-Windows systems but I will not until I see the other versions!

On the GOG board for this game, people are saying either that Achievements do not work for it, and/or Achievements do not work for it with Galaxy 2.0.

I use Galaxy 1.2 and I was about to buy this game, when I ran into those comments that I just mentioned.

Now I don't know if I should buy it, because if I were to do so, then I expect the listed features that it's sold with to work as intended.

So can any of you please clarify for me:

1. Do Achievements work for this game? Or do they not?

2. Or possibly...if Achievements don't work in Galaxy 2.0, then do they work with version 1.2 (which is the only version I care about at the moment since it's what I'll use until if/when GOG forces everyone to stop using it)?

I believe that achievements work normally, but they have the known invisible achievement bug, that is, only unlocked achievements are visible and not the complete list. This is because developers use this mode when they work on achievements, and they should change it with the release of the game, but often many people forget about it.

Those who have the game should send a ticket to support and they should be able to fix the bug very quickly.

Thanks for that thorough answer. I appreciate it a lot. It's the first & only comprehensive explanation I've seen that coherently explains what is going on here.

Are there any historical precedents for GOG fixing bugs like that with other games?

Once I contacted GOG support and asked them if they could please add some Cloud saves to GOG games that have them on Steam for the exact same identical products. Until I received their response, I had thought that would be a simple matter for GOG to fix and that they'd do it.

Instead, GOG support replied to me by saying something like: they would love to have Cloud saves on all of their games, but adding them is a complicated process that they cannot perform on their own, and they'd need the developers' help to do it.

And the implicit underlying message was that they weren't going to bother trying to contact the devs and cooperate with them to get Cloud saves added...and instead, they'd do nothing about the matter at all and not even make any attempt to address it.

That knowledge leaves me skeptical about whether this bug with the Ninja game will ever get fixed, or not. And hence I also don't know if it's safe to buy, or not.

it is probably becuse it needs messing with the code of the game, which gOg is not allowedt to do. The code of any game is the property of the developers (unless the source code is Public Domain, off course), so there is legally not much gOg can do about it apart from asking developers to implement it

Yes, they have already fixed this bug several times, in some cases I asked the support myself and it took very little time.
The truly broken achievements and the cloud save implementation are a different story because they require a much more complex work and the will of the game developers, so things get complicated unfortunately.

Hey there,

regarding the display for achievements lists in galaxy 2 & also on user profile: i opened a ticket & support fixed this a couple of minutes ago.

I can not tell, if achievements are broken - i played only a couple of minutes (as the game was released on gog a week ago) & received one trophy ("Hisomu´s heir") properly .

OT: same story goes for Crystal Caves HD (for those who are interested). :-)
