Dalthnock: Well, GOG is obviously obligated to raising his kids.

Makes a lot of sense.

That's true, I do tend to do that.

Well now I've found the problem!

Being over-protective to a point some parents shield their children instead of talking to them about these things. My dad sure as hell didn't want to explain what sex was so handed a series of medical books to me ( he also had to raise two girls on his own so just trying to talk to them about our bodies was insanely awkward ).

The more you shield and more you take from your children... the more they're going to be draw to the things you don't want them to be around. This goes with everything in life, not just internet and games.

Don't hide it, don't tear it from them, or any of that shit. . just talk to them. Watch them play and ask them questions as they do so or be the one playing it and allow them to watch. They have questions, answer them best to your abilities.

Kids aren't stupid. I wasn't even a teenager when my dad allowed me to mess with games and what was then known as the internet ( oh dial-up... ). Our dad saw us as people capable of our own thoughts and ideas and treated us as such.

That is very true. Hiding things from children accomplishes nothing. They WILL find out eventually. But they will not be prepared for it. Why is that, I wonder?

I thought about saying something like this, but most things are pretty obvious to me, so I tend to be an asshole when I feel forced to explain them. You said it much better than I ever could.

The best path is always somewhere down the middle of two extremes. You don't have to overexpose your kids, nor do you have to shield them. Just talk to them like you would a normal person - I always did that with my nieces, never talked to them like babies even when they were babies - and try to prepare them for when you're not able to be there.

How much more obvious does it need to be?

Erich_Zann: I didn't know there was a sequel ?
The unplayability might have had something to do with my german not being up to speed eighteen years ago. I remember getting broke all the time and not really understanding why.
Will have to fire it up again. Coincidentally I just reinstalled Theme Hospital...
I think the sequel was only german, and some fans now translated it to russian, but not english yet. But yes, part 1 is very difficult, you really gotta know how to rip off the custom...I mean patients, or you go broke very fast. If you are in the red, you can increase prices at the end of the day to really screw the last people over, costs alot of popularity, but better than losing immediately.

I'll have to try it again then, thanks for the tip.
I didn't even know Biiing! had been translated to english. Nor Lula/WET for that matter, learned that with the GOG release.
Why can't we get the Turrican games instead?

Not that I figured there has to be many people out there that enjoy games like this, but I feel like there are a lot of smaller titles that are getting overlooked... for this.
I honestly wondered if this was some kind of joke when I saw this on the front page, but releasing this at the exact same time as Huniepop is something I'll take as a confirmation that GOG now sells porn games.

I'm fine with that as long as those releases are occasional - and especially if what gets released is serviceable as a game in addition to wank material. (Supposedly, the Lula titles fail this on both fronts - but I've heard good things about Huniepop. I guess it largely depends on whether you're into Japanese cartoon babes or German cartoon babes.)

On that subject, I have a feeling that Megatech is still kicking around in some form or another, as a company by that name released an iOS game in 2010 featuring girls from Cobra Mission. Wonder if they're interested in a re-release of the real game...

To be fair, while the game's subject matter is porn, it's hardly a pornographic game itself.

Yes, but from what I've heard (or more accurately, seen) the other Lula games most definitely are.

And though the version of Huniepop here is censored, the game is apparently uncensored by creating an empty text document in the game's directory with a specific filename. So the more explicit scenes in that game are technically there in the version sold on GOG - it's just hidden behind a babby's first hack.

Which has what to do with the one they are selling?

I'm sorry, but I totally miss your thinking here.

And FYI the Tomb Raider games are a simple hack from making Lara bare ass nude. Did you jump on GOG when they started selling those? XD

Now that I think about it, in Divine Divinity you can solicit a prostitute. Did you protest that one?

In UnEpic clothing is optional. When that got here did you throw up your hands and scream "Smut peddlers!"

That just replaces Lara's texture with a single flesh-like color. There aren't pictures hidden in Tomb Raider's data files of Lara naked and drenched in spunk, either.

Yes. I know there's sex scenes and nudity outright available in many of the games here - but that isn't porn.

What I can't figure is you have a problem with naked girls covered in spunk but I've never seen you in here complaining about being able to turn on Postal 2, cut someone's head off and then piss on their dead body.

I never said I had a problem with porn games. I just don't want too much of them - and I especially don't want any bad ones, which the Lula games tend to be.

Well I'm going to bed, but if you look I think you'll find there are a lot more gratuitously violent games in here that sexually explicit (or as you like to call it pornographic) ones. If you have a problem with too much, that's fine, and I respect your opinion, but you can't point out having too much of one and not the other.

They most definitely are not. Then you can go right ahead and call the Leisure Suit Larry series porn. :P The Wet/Lula games surely are more graphic than LSL but they are really not porn.
