They're killing the peasants at Eisenwald!

Legends of Eisenwald, a mix of cRPG and classic adventure, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com. Look for the game at 33% off during the Big Fall Promo!

Forget dragons, swords, and sorcery - the Reformation in medieval Germany is where it's at. Legends of Eisenwald is a gritty, down-to-earth fantasy story that mixes the combat and loot elements of hex-based cRPGs with the classic "solving puzzles to overcome challenges" gameplay of adventure games - think King's Bounty meets King's Quest and take out a chunk of the high fantasy tropes you love or hate so much.

Medieval Germany in religious conflict is a grim, unwelcoming place, but it sure makes for a good adventure. It's only fair that as a noble, you fit right in like a piece of the cruel, cruel puzzle. Sometimes, you just have to work a few men to death to turn your luck around.

You can pick up the Knight's Pack DLC for the Legends of Eisenwald OST in both MP3 and FLAC formats, as well as a Digital Artbook. During the first six days after launch, you'll also get the newest Road to Iron Forest DLC completely FREE with your game purchase.

The world is going to hand you nothing on a silver platter, you just have to take it - Legends of Eisenwald is now DRM-free on GOG.com.

GOG.com: They're killing the peasants at Eisenwald!

jamyskis: "What did you say?"

"They're killing, they're killing, they're killing at Eisenwald, at Eisenwald"

Yeah, thanks for that GOG. I'm going to be singing that all fucking day now.
Mission: Accomplished.
I can go home for the day now. The day now. The day now.

mrkgnao: Why are there two copies of Legends of Eisenwald in the catalogue, each with its own ID?

The one that's "special" is actually pretty special. How special? It includes the "Road to Iron Forest" DLC in the package. When the launch promo is over, the "special" version will be gone from the store and the standard version will take its place alongside a separate, purchasable product for the Road to Iron Forest DLC.

Yes. It really is that special. :)

cyboff: e.g. me too... but download via Galaxy works...

I think problem is with that special vs normal version because it's marked "soon" in my library, same as on "normal" game page ( http://www.gog.com/game/legends_of_eisenwald ), but I'm able to buy "special" version normally

nightcraw1er.488: I am having this problem too. Will ask tech support.
The offline installers should be downloadable via browser by now. I just checked on my home PC and I got a pop up window asking where I want to save the installer.

nightcraw1er.488: Nope, still saying 404 not found. Will check tomorrow as the beer is now cold enough :o)
Please try refreshing your account. The link works but I am not sure why you are getting 404s :)

HiddenAsbestos: Pro-tip: Don't install to a folder with a '.' in it like me (e.g. GOG.com). Some of the graphics don't load properly and you get mysterious red question marks all over.

aterdux: Yes, thanks for mentioning it. Somehow health bars disappear if there is a dot in the path. I am still looking in our code why is that...
The dot issue happens with some older games too so don't feel bad :)

mrkgnao: Interesting concept.

What will happen to the ratings and reviews that people associate with the "special" version when it disappears on November 11?
avatar
mrkgnao: You didn't answer my question, Konrad, but I guess now we know. They're apparently gone. Not nice. User-submitted data should be sacred.
Sorry about that. The reviews and ratings will be merged with the new product a bit later on, for now we're keeping things temporarily separate - the "special" version may just show up on sale one more time. :)

HunchBluntley: You should talk to GOG about getting the new orange 'Developer' status on your account! : )
avatar
aterdux: I will ask them about it :)
already done.
