while the hashtag may not matter [or be "serious business"] to you, it did matter to those people.

from that perspective, what gog did and how it stepped into that matters a lot.

It looks like all posts are downvoted, regardless of opinion. It's been happening more and more often lately, whole threads like this. At this point you'll get downvoted for stating that Scooby-Doo is a dog. No one cares anyway. It's been meaningless for years now.

Sure, but if that is the reason why it would mean that the "hassle" is completely artificial and GOG-driven, not something that is a technical issue where they can't port the game in or something. Anyway, how is anyone who bought Later Daters enjoying it?

I don't know much about this. If it was up to me, if the game is decent and isn't a propaganda tool for some hateful ideology, I'd say let it fly with the proper disclaimers, but I'm a software developer, not a pr/marketing specialist or a legal expert.

People are fickle, One moment, they'll throw money away "for support" and the next, they won't be spending another penny there again.

And in some cases, they'll sue for reasons you couldn't even imagine you could be sued for.

And GOG has the scale of the entire planet to manage (ie: Maybe game A is inoffensive in country X, but a spawn of the devil in country Y).

I'm just glad I'm in these forums theorizing about it as opposed to having to manage it. I won't pretend to comprehend the variables they have to measure when they determine if a game is "too hot" to be released here.
